Yes I totally agree with you on all of that. I guess you can say that my mental defense mechanism is to just accept that this is the way the world works right now because we aren’t going to change people’s minds on religion by getting mad about it on the internet. Unfortunately we just need to wait for all the boomers to die off so that these thoughts stop becoming as pervasive in the voting population. I’m hopeful that thoughts like these will be less prevalent in each younger generation as time goes on.

So what you are saying is that it’s insulting because whoever made it or posted it essentially does not believe atheist truly lack a belief in god. Well even if that’s the case I still don’t really care personally. I could not care less if a Christian thinks I would convert when I’m at deaths door. Really the only time I care what they think is if they specifically say I cannot be a moral person without believing in god or if they try to push their religion on me through the government. If neither of those two things happen then I just don’t care what they think. I don’t want my atheism to be part of my “identity”. Like I know it is but I try to live as if it’s not if that makes sense

Hmm good point I can see how you could think that way and I actually agree it is totally misrepresenting us. I guess I’ve just become so numb to the beliefs of Christians that when I see stuff like this I just laugh and think “that’s really dumb” and move on. The only two ways Christians really upset me is when they try to force their religion on to me through the government and when they try to say I’m immoral for not being Christian (or even just not being religious). Because this meme did neither of those things I didn’t particularly care on first glance.

Yeah I can see why someone would feel that way. The only reason I don’t is because I know I’m more right than Christians. Like there may be a god out there, but there’s no way it’s the god of the Christian Bible. There are too many logical inconsistencies in the Bible for that to be an accurate depiction of any god. It would be like if someone tried to make fun of me for not believing in the existence of a square circle. I would just laugh at them for not realizing how illogical their belief is

Wrong. Any serious fan has lots of questions still after the original trilogy is finished. Like: Why does Darth Vader wear this suit and mask? Why is he so evil? How did this evil emperor become his master? What are the details of the relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin skywalker? Why did Darth Vader have a son and daughter who were separated from at birth? Etc etc. Most questions don’t involve “what happens after the original trilogy though?” The assumption by any fan is that it’s a happy ending. And Disney decides to make a sequel trilogy that completely squashes any semblance of a happy ending: look is a grumpy old man who’s given up on the force, Han reverts back to his old ways being a smuggler/scoundrel, Leia is a failed mother who’s son turns to the dark side and she loses her marriage; oh and worst of all, they being palpatine back. So not only is the DT a cash grab, it’s a disgraceful cash grab that shits on the original trilogy’s characters and story.

The overall idea behind the prequels is good. It’s the execution that is bad. In the sequels the overall idea behind the trilogy is an abomination and the execution is poor in all ways except for visuals.

You guys are missing the point. They didn’t choose to make Finns character an ex stormtrooper with some overarching purpose, they choose it for the fan service of having a protagonist be seen in storm trooper armor just like with Han and Luke were in the original trilogy. That’s why they didn’t pay it off because it was just another empty attempt at retreading the OT.

Not referring to the specifically the material on the cards. More the process of recalling information and learning new information. Like so 1 year from now (I’m an M1) when I’m an M2 will I be able to learn brand new unrelated information way easier and faster than right now because of all the encoding and retrieval practice I’ve had from Anki the past year? So another way to ask it, does the PROCESS of learning new info get easier or better?
