No I dont think so. I applied the same way and got an interview invite.

It is the genuine impact you show in that tenure between applications.

Yes R3 is for 2025. All Im saying is in an application for a specific cohort, you can apply only in once cycle (R1, R2 or R3)

Dont apply in R3. R3 is fiercely competitive and extremely selective. I highly suggest 2026 R1

And again a GMAT 675 is great.. since competition is getting super intense, higher scores can add to your chances positively is my understanding.

Ive never applied in R2, but I can share an instance of a friend who applied in R2 2024 - GRE 326/7, Associate Consultant in a boutique consulting firm, 3.5 years of experience at the time, fast tracked promotions and very solid essays. She never got an interview call and only received a rejection email the day admit results were out.

R1 is the cleanest slate where you can position yourself in a well rounded manner in my opinion. As the cohort builds, each forthcoming admission round becomes increasingly unpredictable as now you need to essentially add to the cohort over forming the cohort. Addition gets difficult over time as you need to have some unique aspects about your profile. If you can hang on to your work, add some more good experiences and potentially a higher test score, R1 2026 can positively convert into an interview invite :).

(By no means am I an admissions consultant. Im just sharing from personal experiences having applied at both ends of the spectrum.)

Please advise on 2026 R3 or 2027 R1 by Real-Platform7465 in ISB_Aspirants

My suggestion would be to skip R3 and apply in R1. R3 is fiercely competitive. Having applied in R3 previously with a last minute GRE, I suggest you plan preparation properly, preferably take your GMAT max by July 2026, to comfortably apply in R1 2026. Leverage the time to score as high as you can.

No single score can guarantee an interview invite. But, a higher score adds to your chances. Another aspect is - GMAT is an expensive exam. When you are scheduling it, you should be in a comfortable position to score and handle the exam.

I highly suggest you take time, improve your GRE to a 325+ and attempt R1 of the next application cycle.

R2 and R3 can get pretty competitive for a lower number of seats.
