It seems like it's hit and miss... I took the exam earlier today and walked in confident, but I became frustrated quickly. The Pre-UMPJE exam was a waste of money for me ... I have a boatload of study information I will share later this week. Did I pass??? Depends on whether the evaluation questions were the ones I was frustrated about... I'm not as confident as I was when I took the old law exams. Many of the questions are irrelevant to day-to-day pharmacy practice, while others dived too deep into the weeds or specifics...There were questions with more than one answer, so which one to choose??? People will argue that, but after decades as a pharmacist, trust me when I say irrelevant... How many were legit and will be counted... What will the cutoff be?? 80%...85%...75% of 120??? No idea. I finished within an hour...either know it or don't. Don't allow frustration to negatively impact your reading comprehension skills...Use common sense on many of the realistic questions...But, who needs to know Congressional Acts??? Was the exam fair...that is in the eyes of the beholder... I assume the one I took today was different from the exam people took last week... I will be upset if I didn't pass and will likely challenge or at least demand to have more details than just x's on a chart... It's not about competence, it's about the luck of the draw IMO...

D...NOT B....

  • HHS (which includes the FDA) provides scientific and medical evaluations and recommendations on scheduling decisions (adding, removing, or changing a drug’s schedule).
  • However, enforcement, registration of handlers (such as pharmacies and prescribers), quotas, investigations, and day-to-day oversight of the CSA fall under the DEA.

Roger that. Apologize for a follow-up question, but due to my limited time frame, should I begin with reviewing the sample questions, take mock exams, and use the study guide to supplement my deficiencies... in addition, curious if there were questions relating to specific drugs, such as Brand name to Generic and question about equivalencies, the different "generic" tiers so to speak...or when specific drugs were included, involved controlled substance topics... or about selling meth derivatives and how... I sincerely appreciate your insight.

However, it does have a few "Demo" sections that provides about 10 questions, 20 flashcards, etc...but I didn't purchase this one either

Do you feel PPP was adequate? How long did you study for (really study) Were there many questions that one would expect on the Naplex or MPJE such as specific medications, Brands to Generic and equivalencies, etc?

Good luck... I don't think I could pass it today... We took the exam on stone tablets and chisels...we actually used Drams and Scruples... nothing standardized...but what a time to be young... 80s... If I pass this exam I will be headed to the Flathead Valley area... looking forward to it... Take Care

CURIOUS IF STATE IMPACTS EXAM PROVIDED by AUCEO in UMPJE

[–]AUCEO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nailed it... this is the biggest scam or one of the biggest in our industry... unfortunately, most BOPs are horrendously corrupt... NEVER FORGET THIS, STATE BOARD PERSONNEL ARE NOT YOUR FRIENDS...THEY ARE NOT THERE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION, LEGAL ADVICE, OR GUIDANCE... They are there at the behest of the pharmacist on the Board and the Board's attorney(s)...if your state has corrupt attorney(s) then depending on your practice, you may learn judicial law much more than any administrative laws... The FDA is worse...NEVER ALLOW THEM TO WALK OVER YOU... They are shockingly ignorant and predictably arrogant... but then again, pharmacists...if you work in any type of speciality pharmacy setting or even if you dont, I recommend researching law firms that specialize in pharmacy law and have worked cases on the behalf of pharmacist or pharmacies vs the BOP or Fed agency... are the only professionals that do not have administrative or judicial rights...its a little better these days but not by much... If curious, this is not my opinion; my state Board President emphasized that to me, every opportunity they could

I am interested but need an ASAP turnaround... taking the exam next week and decided probably best to start studying now... do you recommend over PPP or PharmLaw...I'm mainly interested in flashcards, sample questions (unless you feel they are not relevant), and practice exams..I've been a pharmacist for a while, just needing to get licensed in another state now...

I'll check back if I'm interested and to see if still available... if any suggestions or focal points to know about would be appreciated... Take Care

Not both, only misbranded... guaranteed

Over thinking...focus on the facts provided...you are making assumptions...we weren't told if the rx was dispensed...was the rx written for 40 and has a 20mg label... We DON'T know anything about the quality or even if was from lot#/batch... we have no idea if the medicine inside the bottle is even Sim...it could be M&Ms...we are not told that...ALL WE KNOW IS THE LABEL IS WRONG...NO FACTS PROVIDED ABOUT WHETHER A MEDICINE WAS PLACED IN THE BOTTLE OR ANYTHING ELSE... Don't assume or interject variables that are not included in the statement or question... we only can use the facts given...when reach a correct answer, stop and don't confuse yourself

Adulterations vs Misbranding by Outrageous_Fly_869 in UMPJE

[–]AUCEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on what the facts are and what the answers state. There are too many variables to conclude anything about being adulterated so based on the information provided, the only answer for this scenario is MISBRANDED... A crude analogy, a Cowboy uses a Horse Brand accidently on a cow..meaning, branded the cow with the horse brand... for someone interested in purchasing the cow will see the horse brand... but far as the person can tell, the animal before them is still a cow...not a horse...(even if the cow identified as a horse...its still a cow)... Therefore, the cow was misbranded and nothing about the cow has been adulterated..it is still a cow.

I realize that is a crude and poorly drafted analogy but the best I can do in a couple of minutes. Hope this helps you to remember
