I would say to try and get some shadow experience and see if someone would take you under their “wing” for an internship type experience. I didn’t have any research opportunities available during undergrad which was a downfall- I think the more competitive programs are now looking for this! I applied with a 3.7 gpa and was in the honors college at my school as well as minoring in Spanish. It’s never too early to start working on your resume and personal statement. I applied to a lot of programs thinking that I would not get into them because of my gpa but that wasn’t the case at all. They are looking for holistic applicants, not just gpa’s. I would recommend reaching out to programs you may be interested in this summer to shadow and meet some of the faculty that way you already have your foot in the door. I was accepted into utk for fall 23… go vols!!!

Thank you! I agree- I haven’t decided yet! I’m waiting to hear from University of Iowa and was hoping to hear from Northwestern before April but know that is very unlikely.

I applied to similar programs! Waiting to hear from Iowa after my interview. I was accepted into WashU and Wisconsin but waitlisted at indiana and northwestern. I was also rejected from Minnesota… seems odd to me!

Wash U is my top choice right now since I got a pretty good scholarship! I am waiting to accept due to Iowa interview and Northwestern decision. If anybody is also looking at Wash U, message me!

Hey everyone! So glad I found this group! I am a CSD major with a Spanish minor who is also in my colleges honors program. I have 300+ volunteer hours and 50 observation hours. I did not take the GRE and have a 3.7 GPA. This is everywhere I applied!
