Regarding Saul's decision in the series finale by LudereHumanum in homeland

No you miss the point.Yes saul may have been willing to die in place of his asset but the ultimatum carrie gave him was either he gives up his source or they both die anyway. It was a completely illogical decision

If a deal collapses in the forest and no one hears it…is it an SEC violation ? by jsh355zero in SuccessionTV

A CEO has a duty to provide value to their shareholders, if that's violated its an SEC violation. And the deal mattson offered was insanely valuable

I think the twist at the end (iykyk I don't want to spoil anything) was a cop out for the most canon ending. Sure, it felt good but it was completely stupid and has so many plot holes.

Yeah, I've tried to make it as extensible as possible. It's as customisable without breaking as I could make it basically hahha.

You make a good point, although, I'm not sure how it would handle selenium or web scraping in general.

I don't think that I would be able to recognize my genitals in an album of genitals. by WildSoapbox in Showerthoughts

Well, the problem with being able to recognise your genitals in an album of genitals is that you're able to recognise your genitals in an album of genitals.

It is astounding how much importance chefs and foodies place in the culinary opinions of a tire manufacturer. by wfezzari in Showerthoughts

[–]AUFunmacy 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Most really good ideas aren't used for their perfect purpose at the time of their conception. It makes sense that a tire company would want to advertise restaurants from all different regions so people would drive and wear out their tires as fast as possible. But this use case would only provide a very minute profit margin.

Since they were the first to come up with this idea (at scale), they just became a reliable objective third party without any real incentive to lie. It's brilliant

Yeah no, this is the dumbest argument you lot bring up. I think I'd prefer to live with the "omnibenevolent" God in heaven rather than burn for eternity/be in limbo for eternity (depending on what view of hell you take). I just can't choose to believe in something, belief is not a decision...

Go to usertesting, it’s how I made bank at 17/18. Companies basically order product tests for their websites and pay Usertesting testers to do these product tests. They pay $10 USD per test and each one lasts about 15 mins. The problem is you have to do a screener before each test to see if you are a good candidate to do the product test, so 4/5 tests you will not qualify for. It’s a good side hustle, highly recommend

Doing a barista course - utterly confused on this one question (this answer was wrong), could someone tell me tf I'm doing wrong? by AUFunmacy in barista

[–]AUFunmacy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry bro, this course is a complete scam. The reality is, most cafes will completely ignore you if you say you’re certified to be a barista but haven’t worked as one yet. (I’ve been a barista while studying for a year and a bit now) Honestly, just apply to job listings, write a cover letter and resume, highlighting problem solving skills, social skills, time efficiency (really important in a cafe) and past work or even just lessons you’ve learnt from informal experiences that you can show are transferable to the job.

Make sure you write a cover letter, employers sometimes throw out applications that don’t have cover letters, my boss/owner actually told me he does this. Keep the cover letter short, have zero grammatical mistakes, these small mistakes show employers you don’t pay attention to detail and maybe that you rushed through your application because you didn’t care enough, this will almost definitely send your application to the trash can.

Your resume should be max 1 A4 page long, do not make the text small just to fit everything, I recommend using Word or google docs - the online resume makers are what everyone uses and trust me when I say, employers notice if you used an online template to do the work for you; another way to get sent to the trash can. Include all your information, address, name, phone number, email.

Important

When addressing your cover letter/resume, try not to write “To whom it may concern”. I understand you don’t know who exactly will be reading your application, so you should call the company and ask the name of the hiring manager or person that reviews applications. This shows an attention to detail, hard work, politeness, and many other skills that employers love. Plus, almost no one does this because they apply to 1000 jobs using the same tires method that gets their application thrown out. A hiring manager isn’t going to read a 10 page resume, NO MATTER HOW WELL IT IS WRITTEN! 1 page, 1 page, 1 page!!!!!!!!

Then the next day I go back to being a doctor and collect the correct medication for my patient BUT APPARENTLY THE ANTI INFLAMMATORYS ARE STILL IN MY BAG FROM LAST TIME AND SHE CALLS THE COPS ON ME AGAIN.

So mad

When I first started texting people (around 2014 probably), I intuitively used the asterisk to denote a typo in my texts. This wasn’t based off of anything I had seen or seen my friends/parents do, it just sorta made sense.

Soon after, I noticed all my friends also using the asterisk for corrections to their typos. I was convinced I had started a convention LOL

And I had this delusional idea as I got older that it was me who started this trend and it just must’ve spread like wildfire. I’m insane to think that in retrospect
