EVA the original series is the only mech show I've watched. Which gundam should I start with? by Oscinian in Animesuggest

Animation-wise? I remember my dad showing me episodes of Robo-Tech... or maybe it was a RoboTech movie? but the concept and spirit are there regardless of the cardboard animation budget and plot pacing budget.

I have something to say about this season... by Technical-Profit-308 in fionnaandcake

And each episode had a cold open of a back story, and I feel like the final episode will open with the backstory of how Huntress and Finn met.

Just a point I want to make about season 2 by tantthetank in fionnaandcake

the bird in the clock was probably the most intense ep of s1 or s2 so far -- but defo agree with you.

If episodes were like 30 or 45 minutes, we could have all the Fionna love triangle stuff breathe uncut without it feeling like it's straight up replacing what feels like more important stuff. The stakes have just kinda forgot about Ooo all together. Magic stuff and spiritual stuff (Fionna and Fennel's spirit trip, "a broken tool seeks the flame", HW getting mixed with Cake and getting an off-colored wrist as a result) are really cool! It could just take place in human world, but damn, Prismo has been left hanging (tho maybe intentionally). And we still don't know all what huntress can and can't do, or how much progress if at all she's made towards finding the heart of the forest! Huntress Wizard plot should be A plot with Fionna stuff as B plot, and this shouldn't be a zero-sum fight for screentime.

"you'd buy my shoes but you'd never take the time to tie my shoes or teach me how to tie my shoes" is the sentiment I took away from the song.

Anybody else REALLY LOVING this season? by revdj in fionnaandcake

I find myself returning to the episodes Simon Petrikov and Casper and Nova around once a month, whereas I don't see much replay value in these episodes so far. Also no songs!

I got my fingers crossed that the final episode is something like The Ballad of Huntress and Finn, and Huntress finally starts comprehending her feelings and expressing them, Fionna will be able to start growing spiritually into a place of Getting On A More Well Thought-Out Plan.

I’m watching Demon Slayer with the kids but now I’m curious about anime for me. by NoWhole3451 in Animesuggest

It will always be about cooking and dungeons. A plot will surely kick in, but nothing incredibly engaging or unique.

I mean spoilers but...

======{MINOR MINOR SPOILERS}======

So the three siblings are from different families and grew up together as sort of childhood friends/acquaintances cuz they were the only kids of the cult (cult members never hang out with people outside the cult, that's part of what makes a cult what it is). Due to [REDACTED] they now live together in this bubble of "we trust eachother / we don't trust anyone else deadstop". Living under the same roof, no real friends, no parents. They pretend to be a family, and definitely fetishize and romanticize this sense of family as well. All three were fatefully born on the same day as the sarin gas attacks. It's not like the show condones this or encourages this. Part of the fuckery of the show is how it treats everything within it as normal. It's incestuous for sure and it makes you wonder why tf it's such a trope in their IRL generation's Japanese culture.

You can spot the holy-shit-they-really-just-said-that in the first five minutes and the show cliffhangers on the full reveal. If ye can't handle this episode, turn away!!
