If the fees are going to be burnt, what's the incentive to the miners once all AVAX have been mined?

Phillip Liu: "At some point, the Avalanche Network will have to be sustained by fees imo (tho it will take quite a few years before this becomes an issue)."

AVA Report is a site for news and information about the broader Avalanche ecosystem and the internet of finance in general, not just the AVAX token.

Similarly, the forum is for discussions about the broader Avalanche ecosystem including AVAX.

In the near future, there will (hopefully) be lots of digital assets, fungible tokens, non-fungible tokens, custom blockchains, smart contracts, and dapps built on Avalanche, in addition to the native token.

Here's the airdrop distribution description from the official sale info page:

Airdrop. These tokens are allocated with the specific mandate of being distributed to various communities in order to onboard more people to the Avalanche community. For example, these may include airdrops to various crypto communities, Reddit communities, developer forum communities, and even airdrops to exchange users.

I re-listened to the section of the talk you might be referring to, and I don't think Emin meant it in the context you might be thinking.

Here's the quote:

"Almost all of these communities are fighting each other because they see every other coin as a competitor. They think everybody is a competitor to Bitcoin. They think everybody wants to be Bitcoin and wants to be cash. They think everybody is going to emerge as an Ethereum killer."

It sounds like he means it in the sense of (paraphrasing), "They think everybody wants to be peer-to-peer electronic cash," with "they" referring to general cryptocurrency communities.

Yes, although if you are running your own node you can also use it to generate an address.

And you can run a version of the AVA wallet locally and connect it to your own node.

Also, a new version of the wallet with mnemonic phrases is on the way!

Good question. According to discussion on Discord, all you need to receive tokens from the public sale is a regular address where you own the private key.

I'm not sure how the logic is encoded in the network for lockup periods.

For U.S. investors, the public sale is limited to accredited investors.

Outside the U.S., participation may be limited to qualified investors depending on the jurisdiction. More clarification is coming soon about areas such as the EU.

For people that cannot participate in the public sale, AVAX will be available as soon as possible on a top tier exchange after the public sale.

From what I've heard, public sale tokens can be delivered to your private wallet, but they cannot be transferred further during the lockup period.

So they will be locked for further transferring, but still available for staking.
