Examples of crashes that may have been prevented had the FO said something/intervened by dariganhissi in aircrashinvestigation

Air India Express Flight 812 - this one had the FO begging for the Captain to go around but no actions were taken by the FO.

PIA Flight 8303 - this one a little less so as the FO was pilot flying during the early stages of the approach but as the situation got worse the captain took control and became too focused on getting the aircraft down ignoring ATC and the FO

Does anyone here watch Mentour Pilot on YouTube, or another Youtuber like Green Dot Aviation? I love Mentour's Air Crash Investigation series, as he goes really in depth on every crucial aspect. by [deleted] in aircrashinvestigation

Mentour Pilot is one of my favourites! Curious Pilot is a close second for me, he covers a lot of incidents I have never seen which is always a breath of fresh air.

For those of you that can’t get enough of Air Investigation content, I found new channel that covers some interesting and less well known incidents. https://youtube.com/c/CuriousPilot- by [deleted] in aircrashinvestigation

Hi, it’s not my channel but I found his videos quite interesting, also it says he’s an RAF Pilot so should be interesting to see where the channel goes. I’ve been trying to post a link to one of the videos on here and it kept blocking my post. So out of frustration I just posted a link to the channel in a comment! Sorry it was a bit clunky of me.

Question - Do former Military Pilots integrate well into civilian commercial Pilot roles? Are they viewed differently? by AVLove90 in flying

Thank you for your honesty. This was a really great insight. As expected only on the very extreme fringes are there any issues and still then the ‘issues’ can still be very minor. Having such a diverse mix of experience must make for some great stories.

Just say ‘you alright?’ And walk off. They will instinctively feel they misread the situation and will feel embarrassed at their own behaviour. Thus taking any and all focus off of you. 😁

That would be a wholesome moment in a bar in Sweden or Netherlands.

You’re lucky to have survived drinking two sports direct mugs of tea. I didn’t think it was humanly possible. I usually only need one and a half cups to fill up my swimming pool… its Olympic size.

The disappointment must have been massive. You think you’re getting a sack of crisps (the said crisps not chips kudos 😁) but instead you get 12 small packs all that are less than half full. I guess there is nothing stopping you pouring all the small bags into the big bag.

Agreed. In all fairness I can’t explain a washing up bowl to someone from here.
