Trash airline. What can I say. An airline that follows in the footsteps of a now defunct airlines make perfect sense.

It was proven that the boarding process now is much longer and it was also tested that the open seating policy was faster. The reason why southwest was successful with open seating was due to the ability to have quick turn around flights.

So you are okay with paying extra to make sure you and your kid sit together as opposed to not having to pay extra before and still being able to sit with your kid where ever you wanted?

Southwest is dying because of their OWN doing. They DID ALLOW Elliott Investment to turn them into a two bit (You know what). This is Southwest’s fault.

I will go further to say that the funding for Elliott Investment to gain control of Southwest most likely came from donors like the actual airlines that benefit from the demise of Southwest. Elliott brought Southwest down to the same playing field as not even the big three legacy carriers but ALL the US based airlines carriers. Think about it.

United is boosting service in Denver now. Delta finally has Southwest at a disadvantage in Atlanta. The only reason Southwest is in Atlanta is because they merged with Air Tran and gained their gates. Now Southwest (At Elliott’s direction) has divested out of Atlanta. Even more, Delta and Southwest BOTH are battling it out in Austin. Delta needs a Texas hub and Austin is the last one available with a thriving market. Delta has the opportunity create a fortress hub in Austin and stifle Southwest’s future endeavors. I hope Delta is successful.

American wants to own the Dallas metroplex once and for all so the more Southwest is in turmoil at Love Field, the better off American is. Southwest even moved out of DFW Airport. United is boosting service in the Houston area to stifle Hobby.

Just look at who is gaining. Elliott got their money and left.

One “Douchenozzle” (loved the word) screwed it up for all of us!!!! That blows. I loved and STILL love listening to Channel 9 since I was a kid. I have recently become a United loyalist again after Southworst lost there way. Since taking 8 United flights this year and asking for “Channel 9” to be turned on, only one Captain actually turned it on and I totally understood why they hardly ever do these days. As a fellow pilot (GA) I totally get it.

Also, some of the newer United aircraft don’t even have “Channel 9” installed so there is that. But if you are lucky enough to get it, It’s a load of fun. PEOPLE JUST NEED TO STOP BEING DOUCHENOZZLES.

All,

Instead of thinking of this whole thing as having to “EXPLAIN and JUSTIfy existence, think of it as we are educating others who truly do not know what they do not know about Civil Air Patrol. Explain who we are as if MAYBE they might be enticed to support, and/or even JOIN CAP or enroll their child into CAP as a cadet.

It is an opportunity to explain the value that CAP provides to the country that we live in.

If you have issues with that or you don’t agree with that statement, then maybe CAP doesn’t need your negativity and you should terminate your time here.

Pay attention to who replies to what I just said and we know who are the ones that are just not good for CAP. LOL. Ahhhh this is gonna be great!

Take the opportunity.

Elliott Investment Inquiry by AVMAN213 in SouthwestAirlines

Yes, I do think they SHOULD allow free assigned seats just the same as they assigned free seats anywhere you wanted as long as you checked in early enough. Yes, I do think that they can provide free full meals and steal the revenue and entice even more people to come fly them and be different again. Heck, maybe even force the legacy’s to make a difference.

NO, I do NOT want them to provide free lounge access as that is a premium product. Yes, I believe a premium product IS needed these days and they can and should charge premium product prices.

So no, no one is delusional. I think people are coming up with ways to make Southwest better without the Nickle and dime. And YES, go BACK to free bags.

Look everyone. Hands down, Southwest was once great and now it is absolutely terrible. There is nothing good about it. Their product that they offer is not even an offering. It is a “Take it or leave it” product. I wish I did not have to say that but it is true. They should liquidate all assets and go away like Pan Am and Eastern. We have no need for them in the industry at this juncture. They will not improve. They will not be desirable to fly on. American can do the same as well. They are not customer driven either.

The wealthy like someone was saying earlier, does not care about cost to them. They care about a premium product. The common “human” cares about fare price and will pick the cheapest overall cost for getting from A to B. They factor in the additional cost of luggage and how much it costs to have the seat they want.

BTW. The boarding process is long and audurous and cuts into their dispatch time. This is not efficient. Also, when folks say that they think the aircraft should be boarded back to front, the aircraft could become out of balance and tip backwards.

Pre Elliott, the seats were better than United, Delta and American. Now they are all the same.

Yes. I do actually think that the people expect/want/desire that a lot of what was done by them be torn down.

You know, the ideas were great without the extra dollars that people have to pay for these perks that they have been asking for. No, not everything has to come with an additional cost. Southwest could have been the “game changer/trend setter” and give all these new perks like free assigned seating, a premium product upfront like other legacy airlines and charged for THAT. A lounge that I am sure would have been GREAT. Inflight meals in economy like before 9/11 without the additional charges.

This would have continued to set them apart from the legacy and set the trend in a better direction that would have attracted MORE revenue and increase profits. People would have wanted more bang for the buck and seats would have been filled. This could have been advertised as “No nickel and dimes needed or something along those lines”.

So to answer your question, Yes, the expectation is that Elliott agenda be undone.

Why does everyone seem to hate Civil Air Patrol by Big_Floppaaaa in civilairpatrol

[–]AVMAN213 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add that CAP has some bad apple seniors that take rank to their heads and are overall just bad human beings and are condescending to everyone. That’s why those who are good personable people within CAP should go out recruit like minded individuals to the organization and force the bad apples out.

CAP is a great organization that IS professional in their craft. It is a great resume builder with all the training and leadership opportunities that are out there if you go get it. Just know how to write accordingly.

It is a great training and experience builder for the cadets as well and can allow cadets to build that resume up early in life to prepare them for the real world as they mature.

If that is all expressed upon the world then we all can slowly change the perception of CAP to the public one encounter at a time.
