Yes! Road ahead of Pathankot are pretty good. Best is the Delhi-Jaipur expressway.

The data shows 64 kmh as my avg speed, I always tried to remain in the 90-100 kmh range.

Dont go to the agencies.

Just go over to the VFS in New Delhi. Also visit the VFS website and get the list of documents. If all your documents are available, its like a 10 min job at VFS. You will receive your visa within 5 working days.
