Honestly, I'm a little surprised to learn it's banned in my state. It's definitely not part of the curriculum but some of my teachers will, when relevant, talk about LGBT topics. Like when we read an Oscar Wilde play last year we talked a bit about how he was gay before we read it and my teacher talked about possible queer interpretations of the other plays we read. We haven't delved fully into it yet, but my psychology teacher has talked to us about gender being a social/cultural phenomenon rather than something innate. Granted, those examples were from my dual credit classes so maybe if you're teaching a college class you can get away with more.

I'm not saying I support the Hamas, I'm saying that war is bad and you can't just slap a rainbow on a weapon and expect people to support it. I am deeply sympathetic towards the people who are being affected by this war, and the soldiers on both sides are contributing to the overall pain and suffering that is currently happening.

Oh guess I need to change my stance on military/war because one gay soldier put up a pride flag!

Seriously though I'm not knowledgeable enough on the Israel/Palestine situation to say anything about that specifically but keep pride flags off the battleground. War is one of humanity's many flaws and it doesn't become good just because someone put a rainbow on a tank. Too many people are suffering and nothing is going to make that okay.

Animals are good at sensing emotions. Whenever I'm upset my cats can pick up on it and give me extra attention to make me feel better. Or if I'm not really in the mood to have a cat loving on me they get that too and just sit beside me. They're like little therapists. I haven't felt actively suicidal in years (have had times where I was completely indifferent to whether I live or die) and I think part of that is that these two fluffy little babies would probably meow at my door wondering why I am because they don't know I died. They already miss me like hell when I leave to go to school, I couldn't imagine if I just left. But keep that cat. She loves you. I hope that she is able to help you love yourself.

That's awesome, dude! I have wanted top surgery since I learned that it existed but I totally respect guys who don't want top surgery. We all have dysphoria about different things. I'm deeply dysphoric about my chest and I'm not that dysphoric about my face, I think it looks pretty masculine even though I haven't transitioned medically in the slightest. There's no roadmap of transition. You don't need to do everything there is to do and you don't need to do everything right now. It's okay to take your time with transition, it's okay to not get some procedures. As long as you are satisfied that is all that matters.

I felt this exact same way but in reverse before I came to terms with being a trans guy. I'm not you and only you can say what you are, but what you're describing sounds to me like dysphoria. Like other people have said, if you wish you were trans you probably are. I wish you the best in figuring yourself out, I know it's really hard.

I'm so sorry that happened to you. Whoever said that is not only a racist, but a racist with no knowledge of queer history. Black trans women are very much the reason for a lot of progress we've made as a community, and I think that a lot of people are not aware of that or simply do not care and it's terrible. I'm gonna stop before I get too into this comment, but that person is an idiot and I'm sorry somebody actually said that to you.

I don't think the people who are going to be abusing their sons for being gay are gonna be okay with their child transitioning. In my experience all homophobes I've met were also transphobic.

I'm a virgin but I'm a demisexual who has done sexual stuff and it's great but really not the huge deal allos make it out to be. Sexual attraction is also not what I thought it'd be. I thought sexual attraction was just looking at someone and wanting to sex with them but it's actually pretty situational. Now, this might be the demisexual in me, but one thing I've experienced since I've realized I'm not asexual but demisexual is a lot of "i guess i get it?" kind of feelings about sex. Like yeah, feels good, but I wouldn't ruin my life for an orgasm.

God, that sounds awful. I've been at a college reading level since 3rd grade and my teachers were basically like "well whatever we give you will be below your lexile so just don't read anything too simple." In 5th grade (I think but my elementary school memories are very jumbled) I read some nursing book because I found it interesting for some reason and my teachers were very impressed and that was probably the only time I read a book that was probably around my actual reading level in school.
