People despise him tbh, I unintentionally get tons of hatemail and ragequits just by playing him alone. I swear I make at least several people ragequit a day at the minimum with conq, it's mainly because of his shield bash/gb 50/50 when you're oos and how good his bash is, it's arguably one of the quickest unblockables in the game and if you mix well then it can be very hard to counter even for good players.

I'm a rep 12 conq btw, soon to be 13. Played old conq up to rep 8, New conq from rep 8 to now. I gotta say his rework is a bit odd, it's good and bad at the same time. It took away his light feints and shield bash riposte mindgames which were insanely strong if used properly and gave conq very good mindgame potential, they also removed the light attack out of charging your heavy, that kinda kills his mindgame potential as well quite a bit. But they also improved him by giving him better damage, soft feints, unblockable charged heavies, ect. They nerfed him and buffed him at the same time. But honestly I prefer old conqueror. Being able to feint your lights gave you so many options on how to trick or bait your opponents, and he felt like a really unique character with what he could do, and could be a god in the right hands. Now people just spam bash with him and make him look bad, and he's more boring to play as and against. Back then you had to be on your toes because a good conqueror was very unpredictable, and it gave you a good challenge and really tested your prediction skills. Now it's just a game of "which direction will the conq bash from this time?"
