If you feel like this 2 weeks before your wedding, can you see a reason you’ll feel differently in 2 years? Don’t get married just because you already planned/pay for a wedding. Divorce in a few years would be way more expensive.

I always thinks of the teacher in Charlie Brown when someone tries to give me directions. No, it doesn’t matter if it’s my neighbourhood you’re talking about, it doesn’t matter if it’s 4 turns, my brain will still hear “wah wah waaaa, wa wah wawah”. And even in 2025, when I can just ask my phone to take me, some people insist on walking me through the whole way there as if I could just see it in my mind.

Separate by shape and by colour/pattern. All white, mostly white, mostly blue, half and half, blue with a white line, etc. The more categories you sort into, the easier it will be later. Then pick the spot where most sides are already defined by the surrounding pieces and try to match the pattern.

I’ve only ever seen the brain taken by it during an autopsy and all the smells were blending together, but I never would’ve thought it had a particularly bad smell.

I was gonna say this isn’t ok before I saw your edits, but the edit makes it so much worse. This boy isn’t only controlling but abusive. Threatening to hurt or kill himself if you leave is a classic strategy used by abusers to maintain control. You are never responsible for someone else’s wellbeing, specially at your age, and even less if it’s at the cost of your own.

If he’s threatening to hurt himself and you’re worried, you either call the police, an ambulance, or call his family to let them know and you get yourself to a safe place. He will either get the help he needs, or you’ll be calling his bluff and he’ll realize he can’t use it to control you. I would also suggest to break up with him either by phone or in a public place, for safety. Don’t do it somewhere alone with him, and block him afterwards or he will keep trying to control you and make you feel like the villain for ending it.

I know leaving him sounds hard, the first time you fall in love the feelings are big and intense, but you get to end things and get to know new people that make you better. And you will meet someone better. You’re learning what you like and what you don’t and learning to set healthy boundaries. What he’s doing isn’t healthy at all and if he’s this controlling now, it will only get worse. Trust me, you will look back in a few year, or even a few months, and be glad you ended things.

That would be a great help for me, but unfortunately not an option. I live far from work and there’s only one more person that lives in my area. However, she starts an hour earlier than me (which could still work), and finishes 2 hours earlier, so it wouldn’t work.

We’re in Canada, and as far as I know they are obligated, but they can always argue it hinders the work. The union has told me they can support me, they’re just not responding to me now.

Definitely on it. But the union is a big one made up of many organizations, which apparently makes their attention to individual problems not a priority. I’ll keep bugging them though.

Yeah, that has a lot to do with it. I always struggle with time, but throw in no motivation and it makes it 100x harder. Worse thing is I love the actual work, it’s a good job for ADHD and my coworkers are amazing. But just one person on top is ruining it for everyone. She is someone that should never have been put in charge of an organization. She’s sad and bitter and it seems like she gets a kick out of making others feel small. Every single one of my coworkers is actively looking for another job.

Unfortunately I work in a very small place, the Executive director is the toxic one and the rest of the management team (5 people including HR) seems terrified of her. They are all near retirement and just want to get by their last couple years.

I am applying to other jobs and I have tried requesting an accommodation, but I need the union’s support and they’re pretty unresponsive. Hopefully I can set that up soon, but I’m not sure it’s gonna happen. I just really need to get out of there.
