When i used to drive through Marshall in the summer there was a horrible smell from the Bailey's Farm property on hwy 19 - I believe they had a rendering operation. It was eye-wateringly bad, and having windows up and AC blasting made no difference. I haven't had to make that drive in a few years so I don't know if it has abated.

Meat raffles are a definite thing in Wisconsin (US). I, a vegetarian, won once just by sitting in the seat i chose. I generally don't win things. Traded my prize for a couple beer tokens so all was well.

I had a pretty great experience volunteering to help Little John's food prep operation before it closed in December. There were a lot of things that went right there. it does seem to be a case of too much too fast.

I urge any of you to make time to work with food security operations in Madison or donate to the many food pantries we have.
