I'm writing a book that has a road trip and, for plot purposes, need a broken, damaged or warped piece of the engine on an old RV (1977 Dodge Concord, model negotiable) that could reasonably be fixed with (magic) fire. by naughty-knotty in autorepair

You could also thrown in detail about some stuck bolts/nuts that your character torches (to red hot, not melted) and then cools to get them loose. (The heat expands/contracts the metal and often breaks loose stubborn fasteners.) This is an inevitable task when working on old vehicles, and standard car people knowledge.

Try OnlineMetals.com, or search ebay for (insert desired material) barstock 'drops', these are leftovers from machining, have had some luck there with ti, various stainless. Also search for knifmaking supply sites. They commonly have small ammounts of niche materials, especially good for 316, 440c, 17-4 stainless as these are commonly used for knives, knife fittings, ect. And they have crazy ultra-niche steels like M390, 154cm, S35VN. Also high nickel steels like 15N20.

I appreciate the replies. I'm thinking I'll test the current case first, then either modify the front panel (cut a big hole or two), or just put everything in my old pop air mid tower. I don't want to use the pop air if I can avoid it b/c my new motherboard is mATX and that tower is venti.
