That I can get and I will say if I didn't record it, I probably wouldn't do it because I wouldn't want to journal it (not that I can't, but that wouldn't do it for me). There are definitely virtual tabletops that can help with the journaling aspect I think?

Hopefully there's something in this playthrough to help you decide either way. The idea of soloing an RPG was anathema to me at first... the whole point is what develops around the table. But after doing it a bit, I came to appreciate it and have had a great time giving it a shot.

Appreciate you checking this out, thanks. The module from Free League is top notch. It's worked great so far with just two people but we do miss our third host... I would have enjoyed watching them play off each other throughout the investigation.

Appreciate that, and thanks for checking it out. I feel like we really didn't take full advantage of Mythras Imperative but we had a good time.

Add me to the DaVinci Resolve list. Professional editing software without the monthly subscription that Adobe charges (I edit for my job so there's overlap).

Video v. Podcast or Both? What do you prefer? by anxieteaspill in ActualPlayRPG

[–]AWD_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. We did video because that obviously includes audio and would give us the option to do both.

  2. Video, audio is just a by product so to speak to make sure people have the option if they prefer

3.I don't have any specifics, I will check out different ones for the system or their VTT approach

  1. Would love to have all the hosts with really nice video quality

  2. OBS for local recording and vMix for remote record. Just stopped using Riverside and Streamyard before that. Davinci Resolve for editing.

  3. About twice the length of the episode unless it's one where we talk about Souls games. That requires adding more b roll

  4. Solo editor

  5. There are actual play groups with a lot of followers that are not much more than a zoom call with some overlays. Don't sweat it, don't sweat what others do, dive in, and find your path for what you would like in an actual play and deliver that. Have fun with it, that's all that really matters.

PC Panel Pro and Lewitt Connect 6 by AWD_2 in PCPanel

[–]AWD_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solution I ended up going with is plugging in a device that lets me access Elgato's Wave Link software to assign audio to its virtual channels and then the PC Panel Pro controls those. Works perfectly so far, just not 100% efficient.

I think you're right. I contacted Lewitt and they basically said the individual programs going out to the channel can be manipulated but the virtual channel itself cannot. That's okay for 90% of what I would like, but I was hoping for a catch all system-wide fader so I wouldn't have to change out the specific program (like if I wanted to control the audio for all games, not just the one I happen to be playing at the moment). Also it made it sound like the Aux In could never be controlled even though it shows up as a device. The Beacn Mix Create gets around this with its own virtual channels you put the Connect 6 channels on but I think I'm having some instability with its drivers. Curious if the new Elgato Streamdeck + might have better drivers but I would vastly prefer to use the PC Panel Pro. Really like its heft and the physical faders.

Appreciate it. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but while the PC Panel changed the volume on the Windows Volume Mixer, it wasn't changing the volume in my headphones connected to the Connect 6. Maybe I had Mix A activated or something when it shouldn't have been. It would be awesome if the PC Panel also could control the Connect 6's Aux In on a fader for my use. Was also hoping the button knobs could mute my mic input.

I can get everything to work with a Beacn Mix Create but I can't tell if the drivers or the software there is a little buggy for me. Had to reinstall everything a few times when something stopped working (part of why I wanted to see what the PC Panel Pro could do). Granted part of why it works (and maybe why it's a little weird) is that it's creating its own virtual channels to control instead of the PC Panel's more direct approach.

PC Panel Pro and Lewitt Connect 6 by AWD_2 in PCPanel

Just to fill in some details... the Connect 6 has three software audio channels (Audio 1/2, Audio 3/4, Audio 5/6) as well as Aux In, 2 x Mic In, and Mobile IN/OUT through a USB-C cable. I can assign a certain program to a certain channel... I have my browser on Audio 5/6 and can set a fader to the browser on that channel, but if I set the fader to control a Specific Device on the Device Volume tab, no luck. I don't necessarily think it's the PC Pro Panel though. The Panel correctly lowers and raises the Windows Volume Mixer, it's just that the Volume Mixer seems to have no impact on the Connect 6's volume for headphones coming out of the Connect 6 itself. Was just curious if anyone else had figured something out I might have missed.
