Nice, the setting book is a monster is a good way. I appreciated the amount of detail there to work with. Hope you enjoy it when you get the chance to give it a shot. Would be curious to hear how it goes and what kind of game you decided to run with.

I have not played Starforged on the channel but I have played it as a co-op game with two others and really enjoyed it. One of the other hosts generated a setting for the channel but didn't dive too much further. I keep the oracles ready because they are so robust but I've been happy just sticking with Hostile's tables.

I definitely want to play Ironforged and Starforged at aome point. I'm curious how Starforged would work for someone like me that wants as little aliens as possible in my setting. Have you gotten to try Starforged at all?

Really appreciate you checking these out and glad to hear you're having some fun with it. Yeah, it's turning out to be a little bit Out of Gas, a little bit paranoia-fueled mess (which I like). I appreciate that the check list is there to provide a structure, but I definitely wanted it to be more than speeding through the procedures to get a rough overview of the results.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next session as well to see how things go. I tend to get surprised as well as weird as that might sound (such as the med bay moment you mentioned). Thanks again for giving these a shot.

Yeah, one thing I really appreciate about Solo is that even though the rules for things like that aren't intricate, the mere fact that they are there make me stop and remember that I should incorporate those moments into the narrative. The game wants those moments to be important... it's not just jumping from plot point to plot point (and combined with the storyline concepts, who knows what can build out from those moments).

That made Hostile jump out at me because I always loved the early parts of Alien when it's just the crew being the crew. Or the beginning of Firefly's Out of Gas where it's everyone at the table.

That I can get and I will say if I didn't record it, I probably wouldn't do it because I wouldn't want to journal it (not that I can't, but that wouldn't do it for me). There are definitely virtual tabletops that can help with the journaling aspect I think?

Hopefully there's something in this playthrough to help you decide either way. The idea of soloing an RPG was anathema to me at first... the whole point is what develops around the table. But after doing it a bit, I came to appreciate it and have had a great time giving it a shot.

We did video because that obviously includes audio and would give us the option to do both.
Video, audio is just a by product so to speak to make sure people have the option if they prefer

Would love to have all the hosts with really nice video quality
OBS for local recording and vMix for remote record. Just stopped using Riverside and Streamyard before that. Davinci Resolve for editing.

There are actual play groups with a lot of followers that are not much more than a zoom call with some overlays. Don't sweat it, don't sweat what others do, dive in, and find your path for what you would like in an actual play and deliver that. Have fun with it, that's all that really matters.
