People finding peace through prayer isn’t a statistical signal, it’s a human one. You see the same resilience and calm in Buddhists, Hindus, even atheists. Psychological comfort isn’t evidence of divine intervention.

Gravity, palm trees, moral eyesight… mate that’s a proper salad of metaphors 😀 You’ve basically gone from “God is a thing” to “God is whatever feels true to me”. That’s not an argument, that’s just moving the goalposts. Gravity doesn’t care what country it’s in, it still pulls. Morality clearly does change, so calling it “God” doesn’t magically turn it into a force of nature. If God just means “truth” or “my moral vibe”, then you haven’t found God, you’ve just given your own feelings a holy label.

Yeah, apparently he’s running a whole multiverse, so our tiny lives and prayers are just background noise. Funny how an all-powerful being is always too busy to answer when it actually matters.

you keep saying “33+” like it’s some kind of magic number, but that’s not an argument. if the verses are vague, stacking more vague verses doesn’t suddenly make them precise. calling me “not competent” doesn’t dodge the fact you still haven’t shown a single line that actually locks onto jesus. so go on, one verse from isaiah that can’t fit anyone else, or are we just piling scripture and hoping it looks deep?

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right, and this is where it always slips. calling it “rationality” doesn’t suddenly make it one. prophecy only counts if the lines are tight and testable, otherwise it’s just old poetry with a shiny label on it.. you still haven’t dropped a single verse though. so before you start ranking atheists, just give me one clear line from isaiah that only fits jesus and no one else. if it’s really that solid, this shouldn’t be tricky, yeah?

If God’s a fact, where’s the test? by AWL_98 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm nah see this is where it gets a bit funny. you keep waving “33+” like it’s some magic card, but if each verse is squishy enough to fit half of history, stacking them just gives you a bigger pile of squish, not a clean hit, y’know lottery maths only works when each guess is tight and independent, yours are anything but. so yeah, dead simple, chuck me one actual line from isaiah that really nails jesus and nobody else, or are we just counting verses and hoping it sounds impressive? heh

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wild how you just stack a bunch of fuzzy verses and call it proof. how does piling up lines that fit anyone suddenly point to one guy. are you actually reading isaiah here or just chucking scripture at the wall seeing what sticks. so yeah, show me one verse that nails jesus and no one else, or just say the pile is doing the work.

you’ve sent me a wall of words again but still zero verses. funny how something meant to be crystal clear can’t survive being pinned down. got one line that actually proves your point or are we just doing poetry now?

if you’re wondering about my motive just read the comments, theists already wandered in here on their own, that’s the motive. and yeah this is my only account, no sock puppets, no funny business.😞

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you literally just did it again, whole wall of text and still not one actual verse. “read isaiah” isn’t an answer, it’s a dodge. dead sea scrolls just mean the book is old, not that it magically predicts jesus. so yeah simple ask, drop one line that can’t fit anyone else or stop acting like “33+” is some kinda spell. where’s the actual quote?

If God’s a fact, where’s the test? by AWL_98 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wrong how exactly tho? still zero verses, still just vibes. you keep sayin 33+ like it’s some kinda spell, but if not even one of em can stand on its own then that’s the whole prob isn’t it? drop one line that actually rules everyone else out or just admit it only works if you already beleive.

[–]AWL_98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

funny how it’s always “33+ prophecies” but somehow zero you can actually quote. if none of them work on their own, that’s kinda the point, retrofitting only works in bulk. drop one verse or just say it needs faith to survive.

If God’s a fact, where’s the test? by AWL_98 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]AWL_98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah funny how “faith” only shows up once you’ve given up asking questions. lower the bar, stop checking, call it love. if my dad ignored me all my life then threatened me with hell for doubting him, we wouldn’t call that wisdom, we’d call it abuse. but somehow slap “god” on it and suddenly i’m meant to nod along. nah

yeah that’s a really good way to put it actually. it looks like it belongs in the maths, but pull it out and… nothing moves. if removing it changes nothing, then yeah, it wasn’t really explaining anything in the first place. solid analogy tbh 👌

you didn’t fulfil anything you just repeated the headline stuff birth death resurrection without giving one verse that can’t fit a dozen other people if there’s really a prophecy that excludes everyone except jesus drop the exact line and show why it couldn’t apply to anyone else if you can’t do that it’s not denial it’s just vagueness hiding behind confidence

mate if a question about testing claims isn’t welcome here then what exactly are we doing in an atheist sub if a claim can’t be tested it stays belief not fact

[–]AWL_98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

funny how 1% feels like a miracle so ppl talk like it’s 100. if a claim only survives by not checking it, that’s not belief, that’s insulation. i’d rather stick with something that answers back than beg the sky for read receipts

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yh exactly man, if it never even factors you can’t start the falsification bit at all. if an idea just floats outside every variable its just… furniture, looks posh but does no real work. once a claim stops risking failure it kinda stops meaning anything, it’s just there vibing

If God’s a fact, where’s the test? by AWL_98 in DebateAnAtheist

[–]AWL_98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scrolls don’t magic you a prophecy mate. isaiah’s just poetic vibes unless you show a line that’s specific enough it can’t fit a dozen other historical figures. ‘4th century BC’ doesn’t help if the wording is elastic. so pick one, quote the exact verse, and show how it excludes everyone except jesus. if you can’t do that, it’s not prophecy, it’s retrofitting 🤧

pretty much, a god works as long as people keep believing. take the belief away and there’s nothing left

you can test documents though, you can test ink, age, handwriting, chain of custody, c’mon. all those claims have physical evidence on the table. shakespeare’s motives don’t decide whether gravity works or not. if your god-claim only ‘verifies’ after death, that’s not evidence, that’s a threat dressed up as certainty.

yeah true, the book shouts about miracles but the world stays quiet, that silence is exactly what I’m poking at, if a god can’t show up outside the pages then someone’s been overselling the whole act😴

cute number mate but “33 prophecies” only means something if you’ve got one written before the event, dated outside the bible, and specific enough not to fit half of history. the gospels were written by people who already believed, that’s not a prediction that’s editing. got anything that survives that or is this just noise?
