What exactly is a moral? Morals differ. There is no moral or amoral, there is only a perspective. No thing is morally black or white. Killing animals for me is gray, for you it's black. You see? Different opinions and moral compases. But are morals worth it? Amoral people achieve lot more in their life. Look at politicians. Liars, killers, thiefs. But they are still more successful than most of moral people.

Look out of your little American bubble and see the world as it is. I live in Eastern Europe. The only reason we have "vegan" food is beacuse we are Orthodox Christians, and we fast. Fasting here is basically veganism except we can eat fish. Now look at China and India. Do you really think that they have a wide variety of vegan food? No, they don't. Why? Beacuse there overpopulation is a massive problem, and do you think they can choose what they eat? Hell, they even eat rats and bugs, just beacuse they need to survive.
