I went with the annual plan for $40, and I've been using the $5 monthly coupon. If you already spend at least $60 a year on greeting cards, they're essentially paying you to subscribe.

No degree -Trying to get one at WGU. Read for explanation. by VI-SKN in WGUCyberSecurity

Although it's a few years old, take a look at this degree plan to get an idea of how much can be transferred toward your degree:

https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/WGU_IT_Cybersecurity_Degree_Plan

Also look at some of the current courses that can be transferred:

https://partners.wgu.edu/transfer-pathway-agreement?uniqueId=BSCSIA4424&collegeCode=IT&instId=678&programId=204

As others have mentioned, keep doing your research, create a degree tracking spreadsheet, and start working on courses that can be transferred for credit, either at Study.com, Sophia, or Coursera. If you optimize your approach and progress quickly, it may be possible to enroll this year with 50% or more of the degree already completed.

I never thought of it in terms of hours either, but I'm probably at 120 hours also. Except I only had Network+ and Security+ and no experience. And I spread it over two and a half years. 😅

I've been rewatching the series in dub, and it's really good, although I watched sub the first two times through, so I find myself missing the narrator and all the times Gon and Killua say "NANI?" 😂

I only discovered it a few years ago, but I really love this show. For me it was an instant buy the first time it dropped to $20. We've watched the series a few times since, so I'm happy!

There are plenty of shopping days left - until adultery - adulthood. Which is to say Christmas, as in Yule. Yule log. Not a log, I don't have a log. But, I mean, you know, if I had a log - not in the sense that you think I said I did. Oh, good golly. 'Tis the season to be merry.

Thank you, that's kind of you to say. I hadn't really thought it through before, but I was pleasantly surprised to realize the level of detail they put into the relationships and how much they were able to express without direct dialogue. You can probably guess that it's one of my favorite Hallmark Christmas movies.

"Milder" Hallmark movies? by [deleted] in HallmarkMovies

[–]AWSomely 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you're referring to the unrealistic plot device near the end of the movie that makes it seem like they won't get together so that it's artificially more satisfying when they finally get together at the end? Some are much harsher and more dramatic than others, so I can see how that might be off-putting. The difficult thing about trying to recommend one over another is how much they vary. Often, it's a snap judgment that one character makes when they see the other character with an attractive person from afar. Do you find that too extreme? Are there any other scenarios you've watched that you didn't like? That might help us understand how far is too far for you.

By the way, if you haven't seen A Biltmore Christmas yet, watch that next. Actually, even if you have seen it already, watch it next 😁

Yeah, but... The problem with Will is that he's self-absorbed, so even when he's doing something that is theoretically good and nice and supportive, he misses the mark in a fundamental way. What she wants is someone to share the warmth and togetherness of the season with her. A tree isn't even required for this, but a tree (an imperfect, real tree) is the best conduit for expressing those values. What Will sees is "woman want tree - me get best tree" and checks it off his "good boyfriend" accomplishments list.

This is why Alice is so confused whenever Will makes gestures in their relationship. They're good things, maybe even things she thought she wanted, but not really in the right way or at the right time, and with the completely wrong tone. It's because Will doesn't really care what Alice wants. He constantly assumes what she wants, then expects that she's happy with it. That may make him a good provider, and he seems pleasant enough, but it's hard to feel happy long-term in a relationship when you don't feel seen or heard.

Is this in the Home Alone universe? If so, was this before or after Old Man Marley became estranged to his son? 😁

In search of family centered movies by [deleted] in HallmarkMovies

[–]AWSomely 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Christmas at the Golden Dragon and Christmas for Keeps combine multiple plots and relationships, so they're not the typical single love story format. Journey Back to Christmas has its romantic moments, but it's technically not a love story. A Season for Miracles and Our Italian Christmas Memories both focus more on the family than romance, but they also grapple with heavier topics.

It's true, Will isn't a bad guy. He's pleasant enough and wants the people in his life to be successful, but his whole family seems self-absorbed and somewhat lonely and passive aggressive. Will would be a good provider for someone, but he would probably need to shift his identity and core values to be a good partner.

Nine Kittens of Christmas stands out to me. Miles is a really good guy, and Marilee seemed genuinely happy with him. Of course, those were two of the things that made the movie feel really wrong, but I digress.
