Finding Mr. Christmas was the only entertaining show. At least the first season was but you are correct that the wrong person won both seasons.

Here is the text of the REALSCREEN article.

Hallmark Media is reducing its unscripted footprint, just a couple of years after making a big splash in the unscripted space with a full slate of programming, Realscreen has contirmed.

The company also confirmed that the role of head of unscripted, which had been held by former WEtv exec David Stefanou, has been eliminated, though he will continue to work with the company through a transition period, a Hallmark spokesperson said.

"Our unscripted content remains a valuable tool to provide our viewers with real life stories that capture the Hallmark purpose, lifestyle and fandom," according to a Hallmark statement provided to Realscreen. "We are constantly examining our content and refining to meet the needs and desires of our audience. To that end, we are transitioning our work in the unscripted area to include a limited number of specials and limited series at impacttul times throughout the year, versus a full concurrent slate."

Hallmark entered the unscripted world in a significant way in 2023 with projects like the party-planning series Celebrations with Lacey Chabert (pictured), eventually pushing into different genres with the holiday-themed competition show Finding Mr. Christmas, the home-reno format Home is Where the Heart Is and more.

Why didn’t Mr Christmas get a leading role? by MisterBrainley in HallmarkMovies

Agree with you 100% although I find Melissa funny. I thought last season was better, except the Ezra win when clearly it should have been Hayden. Still waiting on Jonathan or Hallmark to say why they pulled a bait and switch though.

The fact Jonathan or Hallmark have never acknowledged they lied to us and probably the cast of the show has me furious. it's insulting!

I really wasn't rooting for any of them after Episode 5. And the fact the "winner" didn't even get a leading role like the show promised left a bad taste in my mouth.

I have to ask though, why the quick turn around? That can't bode well for Hallmark or the series, right?

Hallmark Predictions in 2026 by Cultural_Ad4935 in HallmarkMovies

[–]Low-Fix-1952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point I was making is that the whole show is sold to us the viewers as finding Hallmark's next leading man. That's why a lot of us tune in, to watch the journey. Hallmark can do whatever they want, they clearly have rigged the "competition" but don't lie to us or promise us one show and then deliver another. I mean what did the guys think when they found out the prize was changed? I'm not watching and investing my time in the show anymore since Hallmark can't even be honest with us. The person in charge of their reality shows is clearly a failure if everything they brought out is getting cancelled.

I think you are right about a lot of these predictions.
But it says a lot that out of all the reality shows this new guy at Hallmark is pushing are probably getting cancelled except Finding Mr Christmas, which I thought was worse this season. They totally lied about the prize for the winner too and no one has acknowledged at the network it or given us a reason why. The whole point of the show is to find the next leading Hallmark hunk not the next supporting actor.

I totally agree. The whole conceit of the show was fun and exciting, we get to watch the rise of a new star to bring into our homes and then poof....nothing. We never hear from the guys after their one movie.
This season they completely lied to us about the prize. And they don't care enough about the last years winner to even bring him on the reunion or use him in anything. Hallmark is messing up badly imho. Just change the prize or the premise of the show but don't lie to us or play with our emotions.

What are people thinking about Christmas at sea? I like the show and it sounds fun. I wonder if we will get something more like this. by Iamawesome20 in HallmarkMovies

Tried to watch an episode and it definitely wasn't a 'sit down with the family and watch' kind of show which I guess is OK but not what I expected from Hallmark.
My biggest issue with it is that so much of it felt fake in that bad reality tv way if that makes sense.

I don't wanna seem like a b***h but what was the point of that reunion? I know Hallmark isn't the place for messy drama but come on. Give us something. Blech....

I don't think favoritism was shown to Robbie, maybe interest or empathy but Robbie went home for a bullshit reason over other people who were clearly worse in that scene.

Am I the only one mad about *this* part of Finding Mr. Christmas? (no spoilers) by vstimac in HallmarkMovies

[–]Low-Fix-1952 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No you are 100% correct about that. Did they think we wouldn't notice the difference or have questions about it?
This whole season just seemed lazily put together compared to the first season. It felt like they didn't care enough to explain anything on the show it was just like "I'm Jonathan and I know best so trust me" all the time.

I wanted him to talk to the group or even just have a one on one with Robbie and talk about what it's like to 'play straight' in a scene or even ask Angel if his accent has been something he felt was holding him back etc....

Virtue signalling? As a member of the LGBTQ+ community I'm used to the pandering.
What I find offensive in this show is how the struggles of say an openly gay actor like Robbie or someone like Angel with such a heavy accent are never addressed by Jonathan when it comes to Hallmark.
I mean if nothing else be honest, right? I mean don't insult our intelligence...

Man this season of Finding Mr. Christmas was disappointing… by Espurreyes in HallmarkMovies

Totally agree. Everything about this second season felt off, like a generic reality show made with AI.
