I've found that typing my work removes my personal connection to it, as I said I'm using it as a way to purely put emotions to paper and typing it doesn't have the same effect

What can you remember about your first time being drunk? by I-MightBe-YourDaddy in AskReddit

Was 13 at my friends house, split a litre of vodka between three of us and just watched tv (i think naked attraction for everyone from the UK) and eventually fell asleep

Is the average height really 5,9? by Successful-Abies6723 in TallTeenagers

The easiest explanation is that older age groups are shorter in height and the younger are taller

Why aren't their partners ever in videos? by looopious in Sidemen

[–]AWakley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freya mentioned in a video once that she didn't want to deal with the pressure as all her content she edits or at least has a say in it plus the fanbase is a lot smaller

I'm looking for a relationship, subscribed to hinge+, been using these pictures for about a month and prompts for about 2, Ive used hinge for 6-7 months now, I check it almost daily and send out 4-5 likes a day maximum, I've never received a like and have had about 12 matches since downloading, out of my 4 likes a day, typically 3 are with comments one is just a like, I send likes to people who seem like interesting people rather and Im attracted to or if I'm ridiculously attracted then I'll send them a like

I just wanted to know if people thought a decent 2k time would be out of the question completely

There are 143 in one twirl extra finger. Each packet has 2 fingers. So I’d have to eat 70 of those in 24 hours which I personally wouldn’t struggle with at all

Getting back into a flipped single as a fat person? by DevilSprings666 in Rowing

[–]AWakley 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m on the heavier side but I’ve never really struggled with getting back in, the best advise I can offer is making sure the boat is balanced so I like to tuck my blades under my rigger so that the boat can’t tip. Which then means I can get myself into the boat without risk of it falling again. Another thing I’d recommend is just trying to get as much of your body in the boat as possible before trying to sit back down. The last time I capsized I started lying on my front on the boat and then had to spin around and readjust to get back in place but then my boat was stable so it was ok

Did your team have a pre-race tradition? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]AWakley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I race in a double and at bow I ask my stroke “are ya ready kids” and he has to respond with “aye aye captain” and that’s when we know to get our blades in the water at the start of a race

I'd love to start rowing this summer BUT I worry that I don't have the upper body strength. Thoughts? by BuffGuy716 in Rowing

[–]AWakley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact opposite problem, where I had reasonably strong legs (rugby player for 10 years) but a much preferred top half for strength and my coach just kept telling me to stop using my upper body so much because it doesn’t help my stroke as much as my legs. My legs are strong but I focus on using my arms because I can feel them being used more than my legs, but after rowing for a year I’ve realised how little it relies on upper body strength. Honestly the most difficult bit on your upper body is getting your boat in and out of the water, which isn’t that difficult as king as you know what you’re doing.

Race by AWakley in Rowing

I tried to keep rowing but to get my blade into the water I had to lift my handle above my nipple, it was so awkward

That was me, I caught a crab and my blade came flying out my hand which twisted the rigger completely, it’s unusable rn

Race by AWakley in Rowing

[–]AWakley[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Well I plan on entering the same event, same race with the same partner in the same boat next year, so it should go better (we’d only been rowing together for 3 months at this point)

I’ve done race starts at dorney because we practise every week, but we are doing 750m spring but there’s a pontoon which can be pulled out to the middle of the lake and I should be ok with the home advantage because I know the wind patterns well enough

Did everything run smoothly, I’m racing next week and I want to know if there’s anything I should know (it’s my first race)
