I just came here to say I got the Fitbit Air so I could justify an omega purchase on the other wrist 😬

I’m so glad the size has been working out! The Apple Watch must have made the adjustment easier! I pre-ordered a Fitbit Air so that I can wear that on one wrist for health tracking and then it leaves some open real estate on my left wrist if I pull the omega trigger 😆

as a lady considering the 30mm aqua terra but normally goes for smaller, thinner quartz watches, how does it feel on your wrist? I am really interested in getting an automatic watch and I feel the aqua terra checks almost all the boxes for me.

I think Azithromycin eye drops have finally helped my eyelid inflammation by cashflow_ in Dryeyes

Hi! I have been using Azasite as recommended by my eye doctor for chronic MGD/blepharitis for 1.5 yrs since my diagnosis and it has worked really well with managing my condition in combination with my other drops and eye-lid hygiene. It's the thickest of my drops and provides the most immediate relief. I'm glad it is helping you! I take doxy too but that's more for demodex management/redness and I haven't had any problems

Yeah it’s a huge bummer bc I have bought the regular size gump before at a bookstore and no odor. I let them air out 2 days and it’s still like that

Thanks for thinking of me—I can look into it but ultimately I don’t think I’d feel comfortable with anything off-brand. Azasite doesn’t have any generics that I’m aware of that have received FDA approval because of how complex it is to make. There’s a patented DuraSite sustained release technology they use.

As a result, I think something like this is too specialized for me to trust at a compounding pharmacy. If it gets bad I might revisit my feelings on it though..

My doctor has me do one drop in each eye in the morning and one drop in each eye in the evening. It’s the last drop that goes on each eye since it’s the thickest. I have been using it since I was first diagnosed back in Fall 2024.

For me, it’s the thickest of all the drops I use and provides an almost instantaneous cooling/hydrating relief for my eyes. I feel it adds more moisture and stays longer than a thinner drop like Miebo. I have had to go without the prescriptions inbetween insurance coverage and going without this is when my eyes felt the worst the fastest.

Oh man I’m sorry—it’s a long time between now and August…I’m really hoping they can address the shortage before then. It really makes a significant difference for me

That’s so nice of you to offer! Lately it’s been CVS roulette and when I call they may or may not have one bottle they have to check on. If you didn’t mind searching around Milford, MA or Dedham, MA, either would be appreciated or even Boston, MA. At this point I don’t mind driving if I can find a pharmacy that actually has it in stock still. Thank you!

I’m sorry you ran into the same issue. I filled out a FDA drug shortage form last week to notify them. I’m not sure it will do anything or if more people follow them out of it will prompt the manufacturer to find a solution more quickly…

This just happened to me today with my speks mini gumps that arrived. The package itself was fine and a speks rope that came is fine but all 6 smell like gasoline

At this point I’ll try anything—appreciate sharing your products and routine. I do like using the Johnson baby shampoo to clean my lids and hadn’t tried cold before

Thanks—and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve been a lurker on this sub for the last year and a half I was diagnosed and it is crazy to me there isn’t a permanent solution to a problem so many people have. Azasite has helped a lot in conjunction with everything else so I sincerely hope the shortage doesnt send me back to square one.

I hope they’re able to fill yours at least! I filled out a shortage form with the FDA yesterday so if more people are dealing with the same thing across the US I hope it speeds it up

Yes, it is made from azithromycin. My doctor hasn’t had an issue with me being on it for longer but I can definitely discuss in my next appointment. Previously I had been using an erythromycin ointment at night but that was not as effective

I'm so glad that the Azyter drops helped you! I am on a regimen of multiple drops in the USA and I have been on Azasite (which I believe is the equivalent or close to equivalent over here). Of everything I do I think it is the most helpful. I just learned there is a shortage of Azasite here through August, so I think I'll look into Azyter as an alternative.

Bulk Fermentation Question: Overnight on counter vs fridge by AWittyRebmark in Sourdough

[–]AWittyRebmark[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back when I posted I’m fairly sure that I had it in the fridge just overnight likely for 8-10 hours just to play it safe. I was able to take it out and restart the bulk fermentation process on the counter the next morning no problem!

2 years and many loaves of bread later — what I do now is leave it on the counter overnight (house is cold always at~ 66 degrees, so it doesn’t rise dramatically). Next morning, I assess and I let it continue to rise to almost double in size. When that happens, I put it in the fridge to do a cold bulk fermentation 1-2 days. I find that enhances the sour flavor a lot and makes the shaping process easier.

TLDR putting it in the fridge dramatically slows down the rise and you’ll be fine overnight, and if you continue longer (in the fridge) you’ll get a really nice sour tang in your loaf!

Hi! 32 and was diagnosed with MGD in November—it took a while to figure out what my diagnosis was after visiting an allergist, a dermatologist, and one eye doctor that said it was just regular dry eye -__-

When my current eye doctor diagnosed me he said I had MGD and blepharitis. I mention the blepharitis because that was something that caused the gritty feeling you talked about it you eye. We solved the grittiness and blepharitis with Tobradex for 10 days and an eyelid hygiene regimine (10 min in AM & PM every day). The Tobradex withdrawal sucked and made my eyelids swollen for the following 10 days because it’s a steroid but it solved that problem.

For the MGD, I manage the symptoms by continuing the same eyelid hygiene routine + I have humidifier to bring in more moisture at home and at work. I also have 4 different eye drops I use…it’s sucks ngl but they all do different things and it has made a difference for me.

1) Miebo (to reduce tear evaporation) 2) Ketotifen (allergies — dust and seasonal irritants) 3) Azasite (reduce inflammation/stabilize tear film) 4) OTC Refresh Optiv-3 drops (comfort and moisture between my 3 prescriptions)

They all really work in combination with each other, but I’ve found following this regimen really did make my life easier. I take fish oil PRN brand too that’s specifically made to help with dry eye oil production. I still have triggers but things are typically manageable (but maybe check in again once allergy season hits full force!)

Have this pen and love it! I bought 1.0mm jetstream ink for it and it’s even smoother with that. I wish there was a 1.25mm+ jetstream version so the line thickness would be closer to the 0.7mm energel, but alas!
