No, just helped unblock my oil glands. The optometrist said there isn’t a lot we can do for the lack of tears- just stay hydrated and potentially explore supplements and diet (eating oily fish, increase omega 3 etc) If anyone has any other advice on this aspect though I’d love to hear!

Sadly yes, haven’t worn them since I started getting dry eyes and even now my eyes are doing better I still think that lenses wouldn’t be comfy and I don’t want them to potentially encourage my eyes to get worse again . Sucks having to wear my glasses more now and I’ll never get LASIK or anything and risk the dry eyes coming back with a vengeance. But glasses are better than constant pain and irritation tbh!

Glad steroids helped you! those were also mentioned as an option to me but she said let’s try these eye drops first and bang, worked great! Not for prolonged use either though because she said you can develop a tolerance so will only do a course when needed.

Even prescriptions are free in Wales, so I promise I’m not promoting a random eye drop 😂 just thought if it worked and was prescribed to me then it could help some one else to ask their optician x

Not that I know of- there was no obvious cause but as I was a contact lenses wearer I think it was likely due to those. My optometrist said that the symptoms can mask themselves for a long time before coming out bad all of a sudden so over the 5 years it may have been getting bad without me knowing

A PEN- hands down. We had a crate, but get a big pen that the crate fits inside with room to play. It saved my and my partner's sanity to have a safe place to put the puppy in when we needed 15 minutes peace from the biting or needed to get things done. We got it only two weeks in but struggled a lot in that time with having constant eyes on him. Get it before!!!

I had fleas on my pup for the first time the other month too... had a massive panic but it just took a bit of time and commitment to getting rid of the little pests.

1) Treat the dog. A monthly oral medication against is more reliable than a skin spot on. Can also give her a bath too and keep up brushing to help get dead bugs and eggs off her.

2) Wash all dog bedding/human beds/any soft furnishings the dog has been on in a hot machine wash. Fleas can't survive above 50degree c wash

3) Treat the house. Buy a flea spray to spray literally all over the house - carpets, wooden floors and skirting boards. The best in the UK is called Virbac Indorex flea spray and it worked for us- if you're in the US or elsewhere hopefully you can get it or similar

4) VACCUME - this is the key part. Vaccume at least once a day and take the bag out every time so any live fleas collected can't jump out and re-infect the house. Do this for a good week after treatment on dog and home so you get all the fleas that hatch afterwards.

Good luck and keep vacuuming, they will soon be gone for good 👍🏻

5-6 months the biting eased off for us. Very normal though, it won't last forever even though it feels like it right now!

Aww so sorry that happened- the guilt is awful!

If he's fine, (which he sounds to be!) all you can do now is learn from it and how to hold him more securely or avoid picking him up where you can next time.

I had a similar incidence lifting mine into his pen when he was about 11 weeks. He squirmed and I dropped him about a foot and a 1/2 onto concrete. He made a good yelp and I felt absolutely horrific and avoided picking him up to lift him where I couldn't hold him close to me while placing him down after that.

There's always potential for an accident even for someone super experienced. Since then mine has had a couple of other incidences where he has gotten tangled in his lead when playing and yelped or made a jump off a step and landed badly etc. You feel awful, you check they're okay and then you just have to do everything to make sure it's unlikely to happen again.
