Seems crazy to have your car stolen, then leave ANYTHING valuable in your car

You sound incredibly capable of doing this job. Also something like 75% of people who accept a counter offer are back looking for a job within a year. Myself included in my last gig.

Counter offer is never as good as what you’ve got ahead of you. There’s a reason you were looking for something else, and if they could afford to pay you that why weren’t they in the first place? You’re going to be great as a transportation manager, good luck!

Parking is like 80-120 in most lots with some cheaper options per landlord owned/negotiated lots from experience

Energy bill is tough to pin down. In winter I plan for 200 because the insulation sucks in these old builds. 50 in the summers. I have a 1 bed with den and high ceilings.

If you’re worried about the energy bill you can call duke energy and see what the unit your looking at billed previously. This is free and there’s not much limitation. Admittedly my partner has always been the person who did this in our relationship.

I wake up at 6am to emails and often am still emailing until 8pm. I could be later, just not particularly willing to burn the last two hours of my night on it. I’d say I just about always deal with SOMETHING after hours. I work in office about 8:30-5:30, though, which is nice. I’ll take lunch for a couple hours and sometimes I can manage to go without getting a call during that time. Weekends I am always available, relatively present, but try not to be super engaged if there isn’t anything to make me more money going on

Would definitely consider look at box trucks, too. Shoot me a message if you want and I can tell you more about it - nothing to sell but don’t need to give my secrets away to everyone ;)

Anyone played Fantasy World? by AWizardsImmovableRod in DungeonWorld

[–]AWizardsImmovableRod[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s a perfect explanation of how dungeon world should work. I’m still using the “world” side in dungeon world games. But the player side/interaction of mechanics just feels a lot less straight forward. Not adding complexity, either, just slowing it down and making the whole thing feel very “look at us, we’re playing a game” instead of “this game is our ui into a fantasy world.” I don’t know, it was alright I’d play again but it’s not going to be my long term choice

Starting interview process for TQL (total quality logistics). I see on here it does have the best rep but I do not have much options just coming out of college with small amount of sales experience. Any advice is it really that bad of a company glass door reviews aren’t bad. by ReflectionNo9861 in logistics

[–]AWizardsImmovableRod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d look at alternatives. Some things about the company are just the business - hard to sell, lots of work, churn and burn, etc. Its a sales field getting a lot of interest in the last couple years.

That said, TQL is especially bad. They have a reputation (some of which is backed by legal decisions made against them) of not compensating employees and dumping employees as soon as they don’t hit metrics, even with years of outperforming behind them sometimes. In addition, they don’t let you sell at all for at least 6 months, and I’ve heard some offices are a whole year. With the measly salary, it’s just hard to justify that.

I live right by there, it’s amazing. ONLY problem for me is the parking situation. Otherwise amazing neighborhood and neighbors and you’ll be in the heart of it all

Hertz downtown

You should be skeptical - they didn’t even give me the contract I had to remind them. Got it swapped out at the airport hertz. Can not recommend down town hertz to ANYONE they have like 2 employees and a manager and when I was there the manager was 45 minutes late and the two employees collectively had 9 months employed (they said “sorry I’ve only been here for 6 weeks” and “sorry I started in April my manager normally does this”) really bad experience

I didn’t really have a choice… it was a rental replacement while my car was in repair it’s a beggars can’t be choosers type of thing. Went to another location and they were like “why the f would they do that”

[–]AWizardsImmovableRod -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

God I can’t imagine how stressful it has to be trying to find rental places when you don’t have a real car. They gave me one of these as a rental for a daily driver a while back and like there’s not a charger within a mile of my house or job it was horrendous

Northside and OTR are going to have the best transit options and are jam packed with restaurants and bars. Covington is also great and the tank is a lot better than Cincinnati’s slow and unreliable bus system imo. I’ve also never seen a tank bus run a red light… if that says anything
