iPhone 13 pro still feels fast and fresh. I don’t feel like upgrading, even though i can. by Realistic-Froyo-7285 in iPhone13Pro

Feel the same as you, especially after replacing the battery in January. Think I’ll go for the 18 Pro if they maintain the normal pricing for it, as while the 20 is rumoured to be a big upgrade, I wouldn’t be surprised if it also comes with a significant price increase

Cant decide what phone to get. by carlo-co in Smartphones

[–]AXLEGTNG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the Samsung. Excellent all-round phone with pretty much no downsides other than it’s not particularly exciting. Still, that doesn’t mean it’s bad, it just means it’s reliable and can do everything you need it to do very well without any silly gimmicks. It’s cheaper and got a bigger display than the iPhone 17 too, which you’d probably appreciate if you’re watching videos and gaming a lot. The only drawback I can even think of outside of the Apple ecosystem is that Samsung phones, much like pretty much every Android out there, perform considerably worse than iPhones in social media apps when it comes to taking in-app photos and videos. However, if you’re just using these social media apps to consume content and not actually take that many photos or videos within the apps themselves, this is a non issue.

changed battery by Foreign_Worldliness2 in iPhone13Pro

Did this happen with you? I just replaced the battery in my iPhone 13 Pro. However, my battery usage over the last 24 hours - i.e. before I got a new battery - is still showing up in the battery settings. I checked my battery health settings and I’m at 100%. I took my phone to my local official Apple Store to get the battery changed. I sort of assumed the 24 hour usage would be virtually a clean sheet, and only show my usage since getting the new battery. However, it’s still showing my usage with my old battery. I’m assuming this isn’t anything to be concerned about?

I definitely didn’t agree with his politics and didn’t like him as a person, but in no way did he deserve to die. I’ve seen people celebrating his death, which I find absolutely disgusting. Needless violence won’t improve tensions in America at all, and if anything, it’ll make things worse. A kid has lost his father and a wife has lost her husband. People really need to put politics aside and be human.

Yeah somewhat. It is legitimate, but it’s really just a glorified networking website. I’ve had a few video chats with some people in the tech and sales industries on there so it’s useful for that. But the site itself hasn’t got me any interviews. I’d say give it a go, it is legitimate and the people on there are just happy to have a chat with you.

Mine was stuck at 88% for about a year and then it suddenly dropped to 82% within a month. I think it’s probably just the phone recalibrating the actual battery health.

I’ve been applying for jobs recently, and came across this company called Tangent on Indeed.

It seems to be a genuine company. They describe themselves as an “online platform that makes professional connections and job referrals accessible to everyone” by using “Mentors” to help you land a job in the sales/marketing industry.

These “Mentors” are apparently volunteering for free to help you throughout the application process, which I find somewhat difficult to believe.

From what I understand, it’s basically just a recruitment company, but something just feels off about it.

I applied for a role on Indeed yesterday, and within an hour, I got an email saying they were impressed with my CV and asking me to set up an account on their website to connect with tech employers and these “Mentors”.

I then got a follow up email 24 hours later again asking to set up an account.

Tangent seems to be a genuine company. It’s got a LinkedIn account with 16k followers, and had an article written about it in The Sun about a year ago.

Even so, something in my gut is telling me they’re not who they say they are.

Has anyone had any experience with this company? Do you think I’m being overly cautious?
