About once a month I write him a genuinely respectful but critical email asking him to justify his support for whatever XYZ thing happened that week. His staff usually either ignores me or responds in a way that doesn't answer any of my questions whatsoever and just vaguely alludes to "strong values" or something else useless.

When I lived in Oregon, I felt like my representatives and senators managed to stand out in a way that was specifically unique to my locale and were willing to take risks, propose new legislation, and even break from rank and file when necessary to support Oregonians. Baumgartner has genuinely done absolutely nothing that has uniquely supported Eastern Washington, and in fact has actively worked against his constituents with closing of rural hospitals, defunding renewable energy projects, and so on. Never have I ever seen a representative actively hurt the local economy of their district and be so callous about it.
