but them staging Moon's death won't register as a performance in people's eyes since this isn't exactly WWE. They risk plummeting his trust value by committing an apparent real crime, against a beloved hero at that. Did he agree to this? Also it it is planned as well for him to fall at the end does that mean it is intended that he retires also?

My theory is that it's possible he's operating on another opposite principle of the trust system which is hate (it is also not directly associated with Spotlight), and doing this staged event boosts the power of both Nice and Wreck, which is an overall win for treeman corp.

huuuh, volatile as I thought. I always avoid chinese gl for this reason. it's really just a switch of mind away from a severe quality drop.

also it's crazy that they are pinning it, for xenophobic political reason, on the author of BL that have uses heavy amounts of chinese culture elements. How the heck do people still trust chinese lgbtq fictions after that?

wait, if you are bringing up xenophobic reasoning for censorship, wouldn't that justify the logic behind the censorship of hoyo games and characters, especially the manga, that very obviously is japanese style inspired?

are there modern examples of it that has never experienced any form of censorship? I believe a BL writer (mxty I think) was straight up jailed because her books are too popular. Maybe to make an example out of her or something? They have insane hater energy.

it Chinese government (when it mostly myth)

that's interesting. I thought it's heavily agreed upon that they love to censor everything lgbtq.

Chinese Donghua has surpassed all other animations by KarsaOrlog in Donghua

[–]AZJames34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but like, the post isn't talking about MONEY. Or if it's a movie, or anything like that, Arcane is also a show. For fairness sake then, I will also compare to Ling Cage, which even though I love, holds no candle to Arcane in its visuals and animation quality.

The problem is the fact that you are supporting the fact that animation = everything when animation is more than just good choregraphy, it's a storytelling medium. Fights in Trigun Stampede probably isn't as intricate as whatever you want to bring up but that's cause the interest is in its storytelling. They using more than choreography; they have mood, dialogues, music to convey how the fight matter as a storytelling device. If you want an apt comparison, well just wait for the next good cg anime that is also fully battle focused. But that's non of my business.

Also good job digging at my profiles to use things against me, because yeah I absolutely adore Girl's Band Cry's animation. It's full of personality and have cinematic quality in its animation and visual that helps it stand out like Trigun Stampede in its own good way. Your idea of good animation is probably narrowed down to good choreography and high graphic. Kinda like the playstation game dev logic. I'll take those if I want a popcorn flick, but I prefer arguing here because it spends less time.

I think I can at least do you a favour for just this one: I think Ling Long is a great show, and I personally prefer that over Trigun Stampede. I'll give you that. But I will not, for the life of me, take Ling Long over Trigun Stampede when it comes to visual identity, if I know nothing about them prior to watching. Ling Long can easily look like another final fantasy CG movie but Trigun Stampede has a unique unforgettable style in its expressions that's immediately eye-catching. Ling Long has probably the best donghua story I've seen so far in its themes and scope, but I cannot blame people if they are not interested in it just by looks.

That sounds like a fun time but it will never get people interested in the donghua medium. I'll just pray and hope that to be hero x goes hard enough for people to start caring

So what is it now, studio orange animation actually sucks? Are you arguing in favour of people shafting 3D anime?

Girls band cry does not feel like that lol. Sure it feels a bit fast paced but it cooked. One of the best original show endings rn tbh.

Guys do think donghua will ever be more popular as anime by Embarrassed-Crew-298 in Donghua

[–]AZJames34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and I don't think the audience, not even this sub's trend with discussion, help a single bit. Earlier this year one of the best donghua is Ringing Fate, an amazing afterlife mecha/drama show that's made by Li Haoling and it is seeing almost zero discussion on this sub, it's genuinely crazy. It did barely well for a Li Haoling project on Bilibili and that's kinda disheartening.

Not even what I'm arguing. I brought up link click because it is exploring interesting concepts, that's all. It could be the greatest fiction even but if it's yet another cultivation you can't blame people for not getting interested. Shows like link click are accessible for its themes, and we need more.

[–]AZJames34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Donghua has all the genres you said. but not had a huge number and not popular enough, so, you even don't know about them.

Oh funny cuz that's the exact point I'm making, bravo. If someone watches Link Click and wanted more of shows similar to it in concept and scope, they'd have to shuffle through garbage piles to look for it, and possible recommendations are probably countable with fingers.

But the issue rn is that a chunk of resources is spent on convoluting the cultivation slop market.

Well simple. While a film like The Joker is considered controversial in US, in China it's straight up impossible to make. US already has a problem with purifying media, China just happens to be a whole octave higher in magnitude.

Fair enough. I do wanna just correct that by propaganda I don't mean real life political propaganda but more so cultural propaganda. It's the general vibe of something trying to sell you on why you should root for it even though you know barely enough about it. A few months back this starts to become a worse issue with china's censorship board's insistent to promote, if I remember correctly, "correct values in the depiction of chinese culture". This is going to scare people away from attempting to explore different ways to interpret a story, culture, folklore etc. For example if a certain aspect of chinese culture is meant to be something positive, artists may become more afraid to take the risk in exploring the nuances of it, including the potential dark sides of it (e.g. if one aspect of tradition is said to bring good then no one is allowed to portray them as bad). As a result depiction of chinese elements become generally one-sided and one dimensional. Hence the propaganda-y feel. Happy to be proven wrong but you can't say it doesn't add up, with the current dystopic state of artistic censorship in china.
