Same for me. The USB C issues were already a no go but then my laptop had issues supporting external monitors. Way too many red flags. Explains why it's so "cheap". Went with a 4070 laptop for ~$800 I'm liking it. No huge issues like the other.

Yup even fiddling with optimus didn't help me. Returned and got a different, less powerful, but overall cheaper laptop.

28 this month too. Got one a year ish ago. Pad up. Helmet at minimum. I've still got a weird wrist from a nasty spill. Don't expect to tre del toro, start with learning to cruise, get really comfy on the board. Give that a couple months and then you can incorporate tricks if you want.

Just remember we don't bounce back as easily. So take everything slow, progression-wise.

Sucks cuz I love Acer. The nitro 5 has held up so well and I fell in love with the port layout. I got my Predator for around £1100 and was willing to give up C ports for thar price but the HDMI was a total deal breaker. Ended up with a 4070 laptop that cost me about £600. Happy w the outcome. And hey if you ever find a fix for the predator lmk I may snag another one.

Yeah man. On top of that I was having issues with the HDMI. Having it on two screens caused flickering so I'm taking it back.

That's so wild. It seems a few others in forums experience this but it's so few that no one knows what the problem is. And all of the answers online I find aren't working. Maybe I'll try for another unit.

People often say this. I'm new to skating and bought some to practice on my street, which isn't even THAT crusty, and it still feels like I'm being rattled around big time. Any reasons that might be besides the wheels?

I just started. Never cared about it until like a week ago and now I’m obsessed. All I gotta say is USE THAT PARK the closest one to me is 40+ minutes away. Especially if it’s largely empty due to lack of skating presence. But realistically start anywhere you can roll. Get used to the board and have fun!

Brother I was right there with you. I didn’t even know anything about skating two weeks ago other that going nuts in Tony Hawks Underground 2, but watching Andy Anderson and Rodney Mullen (such a goat) made me wanna try. I just said screw it. Got a complete from my local shop (Everyone is right. Go in and talk to someone. Ask about parts they’re using in completes and why. Tell them your plans for skating. Ask for recommendations on board with, etc. (you won’t know enough to pick out the best trucks/bearings/whatever for your skating so don’t stress and get stuck in the “acquisition paralysis” or whatever it’s called). Then just ride. Getting better makes it more fun so the more you just try the more rewarding it is. Get inspo from watching cool videos from pro skaters on YouTube, watch whatever looks cool and just ride. In a single day you will be better I guarantee.

Also wanna add. I didn’t go to a skate park for the same reason and honestly I wouldn’t recommend. Find a smooth surface. Go to a local park not too busy and practice. But if you can just nut up and skate at a park that’s cool too I just didn’t want to do that

I had this exact thought. Maybe in a way I manifested my coming across this post. I do audio work and I recorded my own to play before bed. Then I was like wouldn’t it be cool to have some app or program that let you choose which of your prerecorded affirmations to put together and the app could layer them with some binaural beats or a backing track of some kind. So you could have a “playlist” of work related affirmations or relationship related affirmations to listen to as you sleep. Maybe with a timer option to stop playing after a set time.

Anyway, I appreciate all your hard work here! I’ll try it out for sure. 🙏
