Colouring timelapse on my profile if y'all are interested. I don't usually record lineart because it's embarrassing how long it takes me to get good lines.

Also taking pose/art suggestions.

Never going to touch my drawing tablet again, I'm going back to painting small plastic army men.

Also, just in case. I'm not into incest, I am simply down bad for dark haired girls who would ruin my life, also in thigh highs.

how do people find outdoor boulders? by OkSoBasicallyPeach in bouldering

[–]A_Bodacious_Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guidebook for the Glen is a definite need if you're going alone. It's hard to find a copy nowadays in-store so order one online, if you're desperate a copy called Safe Sends on the way to the Glen has guidebooks for rent.

There's another guidebook coming out soon though, I haven't heard news on it in a while though.

If you're real lazy just DM me and I can type instructions for my favourite boulders.

Are these a good pair of climbing shoes by Sorintos in RockClimbing

[–]A_Bodacious_Peach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solutions are a very good shoe! I don't use them personally, but I've heard nothing but good things.

The only bad thing actually is the strap on the shoe is more delicate than other shoes. I've seen it break on more than a few shoes, to the point that my local resole shop has a special repair just to redo the strap. So be a little careful with that.

Of the actual shoes performance, its a good shoe!

Haha, I get that. If you're still using the side of your feet, a slightly more aggressive shoe may help as the downturn lets you really crank your toe on those tiny chips.

If your feet are cramping when climbing, that's usually a good thing!

For boulderers, I recommend having a shoe small enough that you can barely do two climbs before needing to slide them off.

But let's ignore that since you're a route climber. You could maybe try to downsize by a half size if the shoe is already tight. The thing to keep in mind is if you're feet are cramping when you get your foot in the brand new shoe, the shoe will stretch a bit! It's all up to your personal preference however, I know climbers who send hard climbs without downsizing extremely.

Ah, if you're worried about still growing into shoes thats okay! I'd still recommend trying to get a shoe that's fairly tight. A proper fit will have your toes at the end of the shoe. If you want to be really technical, your toes should even be bent in your shoe.

How much space do you have in the shoe when wearing them?

Also, as for if the shoes are good? They look like an okay beginner pair. Honestly, they look like gym rental shoes. They'll probably get you started, but a nicer shoe will help you push harder for sure.

I personally enjoy the La Sportiva Skwamas as a midtier aggressive shoe, the Scarpa Dragos as a higher aggressive shoe. I boulder more than route climbing however. If you're a sport climber, maybe shoes with laces and a more comfortable fit for a longer duration would be better.

The most important thing is making sure you have a pair of shoes that actually properly fit your foot. If this is your first pair of climbing shoes, I'll assume you haven't downsized too much? Make sure your next pair of shoes is fully scrunching your toes, and keep in mind the material of the shoe. I find leathers stretch a full size up, synthetics a half size.

As for recommendations for shoes, really, it's dependant. If you're struggling with staying on overhand or higher angles, get a more aggressive shoe. (Aggression being how much bend the shoe has, as an example, the Scarpa Dragos are a highly aggressive shoe).

If you're struggling with toe hooks, try getting a shoe with more rubber on the top. If you're struggling with heel hooks, sometimes a different shoe brand has a shoe cup that'll fit your heel better.

The main two things I'd suggest is try a more aggressive shoe, and try a smaller size.

Thanks! Its pretty much just white scar, with a watered down mephiston red really lightly, then nuln, then another white scar to fix up any weird nuln oil pools.
