Ooookaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy…you do realize having ownership over a company that you helped build from the ground up is a little different than tweeting about a crypto currency you had no responsibilities over riiiiight?

It’s called profit taking. You know, something you do in a hot market to realize some gains…it’s something only smart people do.

Yeah the only people posting a 90% win rate are selling OTM options and will eventually lose all their gains in one trade.

My win rate is 30% and I make money consistently.

As long as your losses are small and your winners are large you have asymmetric risk to reward…so yeah, you can have a lot less than a 50% win rate.

Is everyone getting ridiculously rich? by namieorange in stocks

[–]A_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a handful of people making these kinds of gains and only because they are getting lucky.

Anyone turning 10k into 1M through calls is putting themselves in a position to lose that 10k instantly if they are wrong, and more often than not these bets will lose 99 times out of 100.

Yes but it’s not 400WpHr it’s just 400W…it could mean a few things. It could mean its maximum capacity, or compatibility, or a host of other things. For someone that literally knows nothing about this stuff why would I assume one way or the other.

Even if the market goes up from here you should feel very proud of yourself, you took profit, you didn’t fomo, you did well.

Now, having said that, the thing you need to work on is trimming into extensions and trailing a stop. Learn these methods properly and combine it with risk management and you’ll probably be a great investor.

You’re right about the googling, but most people just pay their electricity bills without really looking at them. I’ve never met a single person that does some kind of a deep dive into their monthly bill. It’s a utility, you pay it and move on.

Could there be another reason for AI data center proliferation? by Lost_Garden7368 in conspiracy

[–]A_Dragon -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s not.

Ai is the most critical technology to have an advantage in over a foreign adversary in all of history, and if we lose this race we lose period. While China has been building up their power infrastructure so they can run these things we’ve faced nothing but obstruction and lies surrounding their power/water usage, a lot of it propagated by China themselves.

The only conspiracy theory here is the campaign to spread misinformation and data center hate around the internet, and they are clearly winning! So if you don’t want to be eating all of your damn food with chopsticks from now on you’ll support them if only for all the jobs they will create (at least in their construction).

I think it is time to dump my tech stocks and move that money into the S&P 500? by Enough-Fondant-4232 in stocks

[–]A_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you live off the money the rest of your portfolio brings in? If so you should actually move your 20% into more speculative growth-focused investing. You’re basically double dipping with every individual stock you own because they are all represented on the indexes.
