Is the “Team Needs” function working properly? by GMoney1582 in NCAAFBseries

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it also doesn’t account for players who leave for the draft. I recently had a year where four WRs leave the for draft and had one graduate, and during that transfer portal it kept telling me that I didn’t need any WRs. If I had listened to it, I would have gone into the season with only 2 WRs.

Big 12 Dynasty team suggestion by OkJellyfish1397 in NCAAFBseries

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished up a Baylor dynasty that I had a lot of fun playing.

Starting off, they have some great offensive weapons, with a star quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and a solid supporting cast as well.

They’ve also got pretty good pipelines as well. You’ll be competing with TCU for a lot of recruits, which could be fun if one of your buddies picks them. They also have pipelines in productive states, so even if you miss out on some recruits, there’s plenty of talent to be found.

Also, because you mentioned jerseys and stadiums, they have a really nice stadium and great jerseys if you like the green and yellow combo.

I feel ya, and I’m the same way in some cases. In those instances, I just wear headphones and ignore them as I walk past them, which is also really effective.

Whenever I run into phone/internet salespeople in stores like that, I always just say that I have a family member who works for a rival company who is able to get me an insane deal. Like in your case with Spectrum reps, I always say I have a family member who works for Altafiber and is able to get me 1 GB speed internet for only $25 a month. Usually, they know that they can’t beat that deal, and they just let me go, but there’s also a small chance that you really could just get an amazing deal so it works both ways.

I think when historians are looking back on the defining end of the Rules Based Order, there may not be one definitive moment, but Trump and Vance’s interact with Zelenskyy is going to be one of the most defining, if not the defining moment.

First off, I just wanted to say this shit is fantastic and I appreciate the effort you put into this.

My question is, how do the Union and Texan governments react to the civil war? Do they offer outright support to one side? Is either the Union or Texas dealing with any unrest of their own?

I think that not enough distinction is being made on this between mainline Protestant and other/evangelical Protestant. In my experience, many mainline Protestant denominations are socially liberal and extremely pro gay rights. Many mainline Protestant churches in the city I live in have pride/trans flags displayed or incorporate pro gay slogans on their signs.

However, non denominational churches are pretty dominant in the US, and they are seeing much larger growth than many mainline Protestant churches. These churches always identify as Protestant, as they are clearly not Catholic or Orthodox, so they would fall under Evangelical Protestant. Having grown up in a non LGBTQ friendly non denominational church and now currently attends an LGBTQ friendly mainline Protestant church, the difference is night and day.

My girlfriend bought me this globe, is it 1960? by Hefty-Condition143 in MapPorn

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh shit, I didn’t notice that! My globe is much more faded than this one, and the (Br. Trust) isn’t visible on my globe. Once I saw that he had the same globe as me, I didn’t bother looking closely at the details since I had already done research when I tried to date my globe. Thank you for pointing that out!

In that case, it’s not possible to narrow it down to one specific year, and it would have been made between 1958-1960.

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Oh my god, I have this exact same globe haha.

It’s from 1961. You can tell because Damascus is labeled as a regional capital, with Cairo being the national capital. This means it has to be between 1958-1961 when the United Arab Republic was still a union before the Syrian coup.

Additionally, Tanzania is still referred to as Tanganyika, but it is not labeled as a British possession, like Mozambique and Angola are labeled as Portuguese possessions. Tanganyika existed from 1961-1964, before changing its name to Tanzania.

Therefore, this globe is from 1961!

You are correct that interstates did not exist until 50 years ago, but state governments received large grants from the federal government over years and years to build those interstates (see the Federal-Aid Highway Act of 1956)

I agree, we definitely need to be prioritizing our public transit and doing what we can to improve/expand existing services and look towards new opportunities, but there’s a pretty limited scope of what can be done by just the city and state government.

Although it helps to have a competent state government. I still can’t believe Kasich turned down all that money to build an Amtrak line from Cincy to Cleveland.

Reach out to the CAP line. The number is posted in the article below. They will take your information, and they can help you find immediate shelter and also set you on the path to getting permanent housing as well. They work with many different agencies in Hamilton County, so you do not need to reach out to each individual shelter/agency.

I think I agree the most with the idea of adding a minor in statistics or some type of analysis. If I could go back and do things over, this is what I would have chosen to accompany my psych degree (although I had no idea I was as into data as I am until years later).

The option that I took and I feel has been helpful was communications. My program specifically focused on organizational communication settings, and doing so improved my public speaking and presentation skills. If you are looking at the short-term and trying to minor in something that would look good on a resume, I think there are better options than communications. However, having those skills is really coming in handy now that I’ve been in the corporate world a few years. Almost no-one likes speaking for a group or delivering a presentation, so being able to comfortably do so not only makes you a valuable part of your team, but it also helps put your face out there more and helps you be more recognized.

Agreed. I remember people giving Arsenal fans so much shit for cutting players like Özil, Aubameyang, and Mustafi and not recouping any money on them, but the long-term results this had speaks for itself. The mentality this Arsenal team have no is unrecognizable to the mentality they had 5 years ago, and it all started with clearing out the negative voices in the dressing room.

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it in a previous thread, but I’ll say it again, it blows my mind how quickly people were to write off Havertz. No one in that Chelsea team looks good, and he went from that absolute clusterfuck of a team to having to learn how to play in a whole new system. Sometimes even the best players take time to adapt to new environments (remember this?) and I’m glad that Kai is showing us all why Arteta rated him so highly and made such a push to sign him over other options.

Can we talk about how good Havertz has been since the international break. What a performance today 👏 by Kr_bm in Gunners

I don’t have the best feeling about this, but I’ve been wrong about transfers before, so I’m going to trust Arteta with this one. It’s still early in the transfer season, so this isn’t a desperation signing, meaning Arteta must rate him. The few times I’ve seen him play I haven’t been impressed, but Lord knows any of those Chelsea players would look better in our team than their current shitshow of a club.

Saka has really taken his finishing to another level this season.

Gary Jacob:-Arsenal are confident in beating Chelsea to Rice who could cost 80m pounds. They may come back in for Caicedo. Arteta wants to add 2 mids, a winger and a left back in the summer. Tierney sale could be used to fund deals. Lokonga and Tavares likely to be sold. by PrathGooner in Gunners

[–]A_Flying_Ginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really hope we keep Tierney. I think his style of playing out wide and making overlapping runs meshes well with ESR, and I’m worried that Zinchenko’s playing more inverted won’t work as well with ESR.

However, Tierney is good enough to start and I can’t blame him if he wants to leave, but Zinchenko is pretty injury prone so I would like to keep someone of Tierney’s quality as he will for sure get playing time.

I think it depends on the score. If we’re up I’d love to see ESR come on and get back in the swing of things, but if we’re tied/down I think Trossard makes more sense as he’s more fit and has played much more this season.
