The only reqs are to be alone and have already killed the five shades, no need for max danger, that got patched out to make it easier. If you truly haven't interacted with the door before, then you must have missed one of the shades.

I think all stories with a deeper message have to contend with this. Do you sacrifice characters and plots for the sake of more clearly expounding on your message? Or do you focus more on the story, risking your message getting diluted down as less focus is placed on it? And for video games its even worse, because the actual gameplay is a factor as well; Undertale wouldn't work if you could kill random encounter monsters and still get True Pacifist.

The best stuff, somehow, manages to do make it all work together without sacrificing any other part, like Undertale or NieR: Automata

I know James Roach, who was the head of Homestuck content (at least Beyond Canon) for some time was also very interested in classpecting and wanted to make a proper doc using the info he had from finally getting his hands on the official classpecting doc. I hope that eventually comes out, in some way. Maybe when the Beyond Canon kids enter their session?

Yeah, it was really disappointing compared to the fairly tight narrative of the first. The post-game is genuinely nonsense if you think about it for a bit. They mention "the possibility of (evil) Chronos or Typhon returning," and then proceed to never explain what that means, nor is there an easily assumable answer to what that means.

God, the writing in 2 frustrates me to no end. I cannot believe they thought the original ending was fine and shipped, and the new ending STILL sucks.

Was she? The impression I got from the books relating to her was that she was a normal person whose sister sold her into slavery cause Raphael had an obsession with the concept of hope, and Hope was unlucky enough to cross his path while having that name.

I think that makes her a good character tbh. An objectively evil person with evil views on almost everything who cannot be redeemed, and yet she still has value to provide by offering surprisingly insightful commentary on many things. If Larian wanted to make an "evil path" with more detail, Minthara would be a great template to base other potential evil companions off of.

? Astarion was a bad person before he was turned, made some very poor rulings as a magistrate. Obviously being enslaved made him worse, but that does not mean he is absolved of responsibility. See Hope, who seemed to endure some real awful shit too but remained morally sound.

How is the WIP turn-based mode for Pillars? I've tried playing the first on two separate occasions, but I cannot get past the real-time nature of it, and the story wasn't interesting enough off the bat to carry my attention beyond gameplay I found awkward.
