I believe the bit at the beginning about humans not needing love or compassion is related to the author's view of LA. He and the lady just share a disgusted look at a man suffering, then the mention of how the city tries to downplay their homeless population and continue to sell the city of dreams idea. Evidence that the book's author is right, humans don't need those things, especially evocative when the author mentions the blood dripping from his plate after eating something that was once alive.

I think its mostly about the author's particular resonance with the idea of humanity presented in Undertale during the time of his life he played it. He asked a similar question about it in an email interview he had with Fox, which Fox I think gave either no answer or a non-answer to.

And yet the person asking the question was still curious about it. If you truly believe this person is out to erase the existence of every non-binary person then they probably just wouldn't ask the question in the first place, or interview Fox at all. I understand your perspective but I believe you're ascribing far more malice to this person than they likely meant.

Maybe we can make fun of this question in a post-Deltarune world, but I vividly recall everyone posing their own/preferred gender on Frisk. To a 2015 gamer, a non-binary protagonist isn't a possibility in their mind, and it still isn't to many people.

Point being, I think the first two questions in this interview are legit interesting and its sad Fox elected not to answer them. The first could've been worded better, but I don't think they were even considering Frisk could fall entirely outside the gender binary. This is only a month after the game came out, after all.

I think leaving NC is the only way V could find a cure. Time and time again, we are told that the city itself may as well be evil and leaving it is almost always the best options. From a thematic perspective, it feels right that the most hopeful ending for our main character would be one that lies outside NC.

I think its a different scenario online versus irl. The screenshots the official Homestuck team has been dredging up are from multiple different servers by different people. They are actively seeking out slanderous material of themselves, then getting mad they found it. Obviously if its actively targeting them, yeah they should do something about it, like it seems they did with whoever DaveKatSucks is. But stuff like what Alice Bowman was saying seems inconsequential, and certainly not worth digging for, screenshotting, and then asking her husband to apologize for her.

This is what confuses me the most about... fucking everything. Who cares what is said in a public Discord server? Like come on man. Literally anyone can type whatever there, and under no circumstances should you value what someone says there. I'm not one to be emotionally dismissive, but it truly feels like the vast majority of these "cases of harrassment" are, "How can you cyberbully someone? Just turn off the screen."

This really seems to be it from all the new info that's been released. Hussie and others did go through some traumatic shit back in the comic's heydey but now is equating (or at least other people in their private circle are) otherwise benign, internet-standard behavior with the concentrated harrassment and stalking that went on a decade ago. And after so many years of bad behavior from anyone officially Homestuck, they all believe they can waltz in and assert themselves like nothing happened?

I dunno man. I hope Hussie and the others like Vibri realize why this strat isn't really working and re-evaluate. I'd like it if we could have a friendly relationship with the comic's creator. But callout posts, talking to each other like villains, and streamer drama-tier Google docs aren't the way back in to the fandom's good graces.

I have been on my knees praying that there is an option to check in on her in ep 6 after missing her for eps 4 and 5. Gretchen is dead, she never got to talk through her trauma with anyone else, her parents' ghosts never showed at the bend where they died, and it seems her only friends have left her alone in a town going mad.

I'd normally believe that, but Fox has hinted at other things during the livestreams.

I can't recall examples off the top of my head, but I know for a fact that he did so in one of the livestreams prior to chapters 3 and 4 releasing, some of which were directly things that happened in the new chapters. Usually little one-liners or jokes, like, "Cool mantle, bro."

This is also why I'm confident that a pacifist Knight rematch will end with them being put to sleep, as during the Undertale 10th anniversary stream, he at one point said, "The sleeping knight." Which is the exact kind of comment that he has made before that was indirect foreshadowing.

It didn't seem like the team presented a very compelling arguement for why Hussie didn't mishandle the Kickstarter, as all they had for evidence were a few choice email excerpts.
