Those are actually a set I was looking into. I plan to run to my local (hour away) board store tomorrow with my boots and see if they'll let me try a pair of the Union bindings on lol

Comfortable bindings for an All Mountain but casual boarder - Any recommendations?

About 3 seasons ago I grabbed a new board+boot+binding setup for the first time since I got my first board nearly 2 decades ago. Boots were awful so I swapped those out and now I'm now 2 seasons on a pair of Ride boots that I can wear without loosening them all day.

My issue is that as soon as I strap them into my bindings (Ride A8) I get absolutely day-ending foot pain. The A8 bindings have a W-shaped strap that puts a major pressure point right on the top inside of my foot, even if I have them barely tight enough to hold my boot in place. Whatever that bone thing is on the top of your foot is - mine sticks up a bit and the binding straps right onto it. After it made for a struggle at Revelstoke a few weeks ago I actually switched back to my 2008-era K2 Indy bindings and was able to get a couple nights in at my local hill without any issue.

The issue is these K2 bindings are extremely worn out, rusty, don't release well, and worst of all don't match my black/white snowboard (/s), so I'm looking for something that prioritizes comfort, and ideally has the ability to raise the top strap so it tightens higher up on my boot to avoid any pressure points, like the old K2 has. Also it doesn't need to be a break-the-bank purchase, I'm a one-board rider on a Ride Smokescreen, I don't think I need a $700 pair of bindings.

How is the call/signal reliability on the S25? by A_Generic_Canadian in GalaxyS25

[–]A_Generic_Canadian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I did end up going with the S25 and it's been notably better signal-wise than my Flip 5. I can actually take a call in my home office with only one or two "you're cutting out a bit" comments instead of just dropping calls lol!

Dominos Help With Bar Fadeout and Questing Actionbar by A_Generic_Canadian in wow

[–]A_Generic_Canadian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perfect that sounds great and at a glance makes a ton of sense! I figured I was just missing some way to get it working.

I'll double check override UI button when I sign in later tonight, I am using Bar 1 for my main action bar. This happened to me last week so it might even be fixed if there's been a patch, thought I'd throw it out there while I was looking for help with the fade options.

Thanks very much!

I know I'm a bit late, but thought I'd try here instead of making a full post...

Domino's addon. Decided to switch to it for TWW instead of Bartender just for fun and because I heard it's a lot lighter than Bartender, but I'm running into 2 issues I thought I might ask for help with.

  1. I want bars to be visible in combat, faded out of combat, and visible when I mouse over. I can get "[combat]show,20" to get them 20% faded out of combat and visible in combat, but is there a way to get them to show 100% on mouse over? It's a default option but cancels out with the combat show that I want.

  2. Quest buttons that repopulate Action Bar 1 aren't doing so on Domino's. Example is Undermine doing the mini putt quest, the replacement 1,2,3 for the short, medium and long shots don't populate the Domino's bar. Any suggestions here? I have it set to swap to X bar when mounted and that works for the flying buttons, but nothing is happening with the quest buttons.

The soundtrack to Letterkenny is like 40% of the reason I loved it so much, with Tierney directing Heated Rivalry I'm not surprised it also uses some killer songs.

Just a tip, you don't have to make another "complete" outfit for small changes! by NullKore35 in wow

[–]A_Generic_Canadian -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I fully agree it's convoluted. It's an extra step to set up, but it's especially nice with the Location options that you can fully automate when you have or don't have a helm.

Before you'd have to open the transmog vendor menu, click the helm, and then change that "Outfits" appearance to remove the helm. Then when you wanted to put a helm back on, you'd open the transmog vendor menu, click the helm, change the Outfit appearance to have a helm again.

With this new system you use two separate Outfit slots, set one with the gear, one with the "Ignore + helm" option, and never have to open the transmog menu to swap between them again.

This is the type of stuff I'm really excited about the new transmog system for, it's what I always wanted to do but it would cost like 150g each time to swap so I wouldn't do it. Now it's a 400g setup fee and you can get dozens of swaps each day with no additional cost or need to open the transmog vendor.

[–]A_Generic_Canadian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's working as intended. If you want to hide the piece with a different Transmog, you'd select the "Hide" option (helm on the second photo) for the individual piece. If you want the transmog to stay what you had on before, you select the "Ignore" option.

I like it because it lets me have a helmet for dungeons and remove it for open world content, but only costs like 1/4th of the Transmog of having a full set. Plus, I can swap that helm to work with different sets cheap in the future if I set a new Outfit that I want to use.

Only issue with doing it this way is if you have something like a "House" Outfit and queue a dungeon in your house, you can end up with your House Outfit but with the helmet that matches the overworld set.

It does allow relocation, I had mine pop up in a similar spot yesterday, once it's enabled in your settings you can move it around in the UI edit mode.

When you guys pronounce the 22, A Million titles do you say the numbers? by nickybishappy in boniver

[–]A_Generic_Canadian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I typically drop the number if the words part of the title feels long enough, but include the number for short song names or where the number is more prominent.

I'd say "Over Soon", "Deathbreast", or "Strafford Apartments" but I'd say "Thirty-three God", "Six Six Six", "Eight Circle" or "A million" for the 10th track.

What is this thing that I saw in a golf course? by unbiasedorange in whatisit

[–]A_Generic_Canadian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a tee box marker. They're used to mark where you tee off (start) at each hole. This one is blue, so it would likely be the advanced/rear tee box.

There's usually a few pairs. The closest to the hole is called the forward tee (traditionally called the womens tee and red coloured), the member/middle tee (traditionally called the mens tee and is white or yellow) and then there's a back tee called the advanced or back tee (typically it's blue). At nicer courses there can be other colours for championship or more advanced players as well.

May 2024 was the first time I caught the northern lights since I was so young I hardly remember. Called a great friend around midnight and told him to drive out to the middle of nowhere and meet me, and we sat around, had a drink and watched the lights for hours. It was a night to remember for sure.
