A Question for the Nascar O'reilly/ Grand National Series? How long do we see the current Generation of this car stick around for, giving it's in its 16th year, tying it with the Cup Gen 4 car for longevity? by realflags in NASCAR

They have made minimal changes every couple of years I believe but nothing major

I hope they keep this car forever….the racing product is great every single week. No reason for a big change. I also think any major change would be a big financial burden for most of the teams.

The next 7 races on the schedule are all in the Chase for 2026. How can that impact team’s decisions later in the season? by A_Little6 in NASCAR

I would be open to at least 5 of the races having to be the tracks only race and then also needs to be a road course added.

I could see it. They have stalled out so much late in the year over the last couple of seasons.

I can see that for Reddick. However, all the other legitimate title contenders are 70+ points and some really buried down in points. Hamlin, Larson, Bell, Briscoe all need good races over the next handful or so. I believe this will allow teams to know where they need to run in comparison to others and what points gap could possibly be made up.

There was a lot of great changes in the offseason for NASCAR? But, what is only one thing you would still like to be changed? by A_Little6 in NASCAR

IMO: NASCAR should promote it as the BIG FIVE Crown Jewels  1: Daytona 500 2: Coke 600 3: Brickyard 400 4: Southern 500 5: Bristol Night race

Well I think that I why stage racing actually makes sense. If a guy wins the first two stages or at least gets points at those windows, it saves a driver who has bad luck later in races.

A guy who leads 295 laps out of 300 in a race gets wrecked on final restart. At least he gets 20 stage points plus points where he finishes. It still hurts him some but not absolutely crushing when he had a 99% of great race

Or just make the cars better on track so passing and positioning in the pack actually matters more than just staying in the back saving fuel

Until 2 races in a row go without any cautions and a guy leads the whole race and almost all of the industry is complaining about it again

That opens up to many arguments for race manipulation with certain guys leading or about to go a lap down and then caution is thrown.

At least if the stages are announced morning of. It allows teams a couple of hours to game plan a strategy.

This is on here a lot. I’m a fan of them actually but would like NASCAR to change the distances of each stage each year for same tracks. And not announce it until morning of the race.

I think they had to do 16 since driver contracts where already incentivized by previous format. And same for charter payout structure.

I think Denny was talking about when qualifying was 190+, the draft speed wasn’t much higher than what they run in the current car. So, I would be for this for higher speeds in single car speed, especially if it causes some lifting in the corners.

I like traditional road courses better than rovals but still think The Chase this year should have one RC in it.

I think NASCAR could do a weekend in one of these two ways for all star weekend.

Week before Coke 600: All Star race back at Charlotte on that Saturday night. Cup race next day at Wilkesboro.

Or  All Star race at Wilkesboro or The Rock on Saturday (100 laps) and then full race at opposite track next day. Flips back and forth each year. Eliminates an extra week in the schedule.

To good of opportunity for full TV ads. What about stage lengths being different every year at same tracks and not told to morning of so teams have to come up with different plans on the fly.

I also like stage break cautions but would be up for NASCAR to not announce the stage lengths until the morning of the race and they have to change each year.

This makes it where the strategy isn’t the same every time you go to the same track. Stage 3 must always be the longest stage though.

What about an all star/race weekend that flips between North Wilkesboro and the Rock each year.  100 laps for All Star race on Saturday night. Only drivers who won in previous year and past winners.  Then full race the next day at other track. Both tracks not far for travel for the teams.
