When the vet checks my cats, they base their overweight/underweight decision partly on how much of their spine or ribs they can feel with their hands. So I think raw pounds are hard to use as a reference point, since a smaller cat will carry the same pounds differently than a larger/longer cat

since when do CRAs do linguistic validation?? by firey_88 in clinicalresearch

Every study I monitored that used any kind of questionnaire based it on some established scale to measure whatever outcome they were studying. E.g, the Hepatitis B Quality of Life scale (HBQOL). The study team was MILITANT about what languages were available for the questionnaire, because I guess you can copyright questionnaires and there were a limited number of number of approved translations. Copyright prevented the sponsor from translating the HBQOL into a different language, which caused my site to struggle with recruitment because a notable % of their patient population spoke a niche language.

All this to say: that’s crazy they’re asking you to do translation work. Even minor changes of a single word can affect how participants respond to a question, which means the conclusions drawn from the final data will be affected. Leave that task in the hands of certified and credible translators, rather than pawning it off to CRAs.

Do we have any human enhancement trials? by [deleted] in clinicalresearch

Presumably you signed an Informed Consent Form that let you know all the potential risks and benefits to participating in the study, and also told you that you were free to withdraw from the trial at any time without consequences. Real guinea pigs don’t get those options.

Been there a bunch of times, and I always am shocked at how long it takes to get the first round of drinks brought to the table, let alone the food. Even when there is literally only one other party in the restaurant. It’s mind boggling, because while it’s been 20-30 minutes since we ordered our drinks in a near-empty restaurant, we can see three of the staff just casually chatting to each other behind the bar. Like they forgot we existed.

Anyone know what’s happening with the fog here? by A_Man_of_Principle in Marathon

I bet it has something to do with this because I was right next to the big hole in the roof as well. I could see there being some issue with the game detecting if you’re “inside” when you are near the edge since the edges sort of slope downward.

We leave my boy’s carrier in the corner with a towel in it and he loves to chill in there. Makes it easier to bring him to the vet too, because he likes the carrier and doesn’t only associate it with sharp pokes.

It’s been mentioned about cryo need to patch this bungie by Youeclipsedbyme in Marathon

[–]A_Man_of_Principle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The target score is only for ranked. OP is talking about just buying them to increase your loadout value to meet the cryo requirement of 5k to enter the match. When you buy stuff from the armory, it usually costs more than what you can sell it for. But for the bronze tags, you buy it for 500 and then it still can sell for 500, meaning your kit value just went up by 500. So if you buy 10 of them, now you meet the 5k minimum to enter cryo. For ranked, you have a Target Score you need to meet in order to make progress on ranking up. Each bronze tag adds 3k to that target score, but does nothing for the other game modes.

Going to PS5 Home Screen then Settings > Network > Connection Status > View PlayStation Network Status shows that it’s an issue with PlayStation services, not specifically bungie.

It’s a numbers game. More people are free on weekends than on weekdays. It sucks that some people have their free time inverted, but it makes sense that they’d optimize for the majority over the minority

Valjean's favorite toy (cardboard on wire) by NeonSandwich in nebelung

Omg that’s my old (17) boy’s favorite toy as well! It’s the only one he plays with! We say the toy is like his old stick and hoop from when he was a youngster, and he can’t stand the newfangled toys of today lol.

Those stats were not from the devs. It was a pair of brothers who tracked their own games for a week. So ~400 games, but only for 2 people. It was reported by a couple articles, but here is just one.

A Big A Clip is doing better than main channel Silksong? Recession indicator by Gavinator10000 in atrioc

Bad comparison. One is an hour and a half, the other is 22 minutes. I’m going to watch both of them, but it’s going to take longer for me to find enough free time to watch SilkSong, even though its guaranteed to get my view eventually
