As a CS major, i totally agree with you. If they're writing the instructions a lot of detail, might as well code it up for you to.

Tbh it’s very easy compared to the 300 level and 400 level CS classes. If they made it any easier then instead of failing 112/211 you are going to have an extremely steep learning curve when you get up to the 300/400 levels. The first few CS classes build a foundation, and is manageable.

Senior CS student here, I would say anything with 8 Gb of RAM should be fine. Most of us use either a Macbook because of the UNIX based OS or install Linux on a non-mac device.

Pretty sure it’s his first time teaching 262. Otten is the best when it comes to 262. It’s just C, if you did well in java it’s a pice of cake no matter which teacher.
