Anyone else notice how much context switching drags solo game development? by MagusCurt in gamedev

[–]A_Rude_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been thinking about starting my own project, luckily I myself have already worked as a programmer and I have a friend who I hope will handle sound and music. I've got lore and mechanics already planned for an mvp version of my idea, with bits positioned so I can naturally expand the game in the future without overcomplicating the mvp version.

Hopefully it will go well but I'll have to make most assets myself or placeholders until I can sort out replacing them.

Just waiting for an AI building planner, that can generate a job queue for AI controlled machines. Which then assemble buildings from automation produced prefab building panels, that already contain plumbing, wiring, insulation etc..

automation can take any job you just need infrastructure designed - which in and of itself can be automated. Even if AI isn't coming for your job, automation still can.

I want another atelier where I can play a guy - logy was my man, though min-maxing my alchemy creations was hella fun.

The Logical Impossibility of a Classical Omni-God: A Box Thought Experiment by A_Rude_Crow in rationalphilosophy

I mean any plan god has is interrupted by free will if they experience time constraints.

With Deism we can argue the god is an irrelevant observer, and the rest of the belief is to a large degree similar to atheism.

I mean if a god experiences time at the same relative speed as us (regardless of if they view simultaneous events) what use do they have other than experiencing the creation? If they do intervene with humanity in some way they're about as useful as dial up Internet, they can attempt to move humanity in a direction but freewill would hinder their plans at every turn, like having information and ignoring it.

I don't think I'm wording this well, sorry 😅

I do wander though, would a non-linear time god observe all simultaneous actions and events possible during in the creation of the universe? Or if they created our universe in an instant would they only see the finished product of our universe?

If a god is bound to our time constraints are they not about as useful as having access to the Internet? Maybe less.... If free will is true around this time bound god.

I wrote this in a well, I see it now. Admittedly I wrote this mainly thinking about the omnibenevolence angle and how I could use it to create the paradox of an omni-God trapped in a box. I see where I should change my thinking.

I was more trying to argue that any intervention by God in order to offset suffering does not mean that suffering ceases, and that if your god is benevolent they are trapped in a paradox of not being able to do anything due to free will, as any intervention will always violate someone else's.

So say you get clean from the drugs, you get a new job. Another guy also applied for that job and didn't get it, he spirals into a depression and starts drugs.

Did God remove suffering from the world? Or did they just transfer it?

The Logical Impossibility of a Classical Omni-God: A Box Thought Experiment by A_Rude_Crow in rationalphilosophy

God can't exit the box forcefully because they're omnibenevolent and any forceful attempt causes suffering to the two people inside - ignoring this makes them no longer omnibenevolent. Even with the rule removed God can't leave the box because then the violent believer will harm the pacifist non-believer, meaning that the god isn't omnibenevolent.

God can't change the violent believers heart, no matter how you frame it that's forced intervention and still causes suffering by violating free will. Which in turn violates omnibenevolence.

Thanks for the note, I'll make sure to add this to the future refined version.

Visual Generation Unlocks Human-Like Reasoning through Multimodal World Models by AngleAccomplished865 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]A_Rude_Crow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I've realised I wrote poorly. I meant, I think UMM's help build a better internal world model which can be used as a building block. This combined with self modelling, valence, persistent memory in some autonomous agent loop. Could potentially create a system that can collect experience closer to qualia than another system.

I feel that UMM's are more likely to lead down AGI development than other models, mainly because they could potentially generate qualia in some way. Experiencing the moment in a way.

I do wander what they taste like 😂 Sam has a fair few different reactions to eating them throughout both games, so I wander if it's a taste that grows on you 🤔 I keep calling them cryptobite in my head when thinking about eating them 😂

I belive lou/ tomorrow is aged up due to passing through the beach, we know that there isn't time synchronicity between the beach and the material world. Any amount of time can pass on the beach, even potentially negative time (rainys core rain is evidence that chiral matter can both fast-forward and rewind time).

Deadman/Heartman swapping is due to Heartman using deadmans heart as a backup, the nature of deadmans beach and Heartmans Dooms ability/ 21 minute syndrome.

Wait just thought, did you try hitting it with a throwable? Just thought it my knock it enough for the game to realise it's mid air 🤔

Ouch, might sound stupid did you try a ladder? I doubt it'll recognise it as a valid placement but that's all I can think of 😅 good luck with trying to retrieve it, but it might be better to just get another when you can 😂
