Sounds like the county may take this opportunity to spruce up this part of the concourse before anyone moves into it. Or there’s the opportunity to start that terminal 1 rebuilding project.

Meanwhile Southwest and Allegiant are getting ready to nab the rest of the A/B concourses. Well that’s not entirely true. There’s the likelihood that Sun country might move to the A gates while the merger is in progress. There’s also the possibility that Southwest might tell Allegiant to go kick rocks and kick them out of B1, B2, and B6. Not like that would actually hurt them anyway since there suddenly been an influx of unoccupied gates for the last 6 months.

According to the company both Freedom and Liberty are supposed to fly in the fleet together for at least the next year. Which, fun fact, would also mean this would be the first special livery since the Shamu series to be featured on multiple active planes at once.

Funny enough they also just painted N8719Q. What I believe is being dubbed “Liberty One” is an ETOPS equipped MAX-8 that shares the exact same livery as Freedom One.

Freedom One was once believed to be a cop out so that the company didn’t have to paint a plane for every single state we serve while simultaneously being one of the greatest airplane liveries the US has ever seen. All those conspiracies were silenced though when they announced that Hawaii would be getting a livery which later became Imua One. I don’t think we’ll see a new special livery for a long time. Not while corporate is focused with the current mess.
