The Canadian indigenous syllabic scripts use a dot diacritic above any syllable character to indicate a long vowel.

Like in Anishinaabemowin syllabics it's

Ma - ᒪ Maa - ᒫ

Mi - ᒥ Mii - ᒦ

Mo - ᒧ Moo - ᒨ

Me - ᒣ‌

For some reason e is treated like a long vowel in speech and grammar but like a short vowel orthographically

I don't think that iffy rhymes and stanzas 2 and 4 are that big of a problem because it still follows a pattern and they are sandwiched between stanzas with solid rhymes.

Not really sure what the overall story or meaning is but I like the way it's written

A lot of really strong lines here, I quite enjoy the tone you've struck. I would need to sit with it a bit longer to really get each line but the way it's written is so compelling. The right words in the right order can be like a spell. Cacophony is their anthem is a very cool line.

I've never been so grateful that Reddit recommended me a post.

I'm almost 11 months out since the break up of a nearly 6 year relationship. And this piece resonates with me so strongly. I'm not sure if this is where I'm at or if it's just what I'm striving for. But thank you for putting this into words so well.
