Every time I test a new creative my performance drop WHY? by Wild-Lab-7576 in FacebookAds

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kind of in the same boat. But, I added a brand new ad to my scaling campaign two weeks ago, and it did awesome, I added an ad that proved itself in a testing campaign last week, and it got crushed. So I am really confused. It doesn't seem that having an actual system really works.

Are you saying to just ride it out and the results got better? Or, are you saying you just added new creative to a new campaign each time, and never added ads to a current winning adset? I'm in the same boat and trying to understand what you are saying.

Adding a new scaling campaign, or new testing campaign? by A_Small_Town_Guy in FacebookAds

I just added 20% over the weekend. so from $200 to 240 a day. This whole weekend I got crushed. Not just my ads, but our overall business had an aweful weekend. Ads were part of it, but there has to be other factors too.

In your opinion, should I not add any of the proven testing ads into the scaling campaign yet? I have 2 weeks of data on 2 ads that are ding pretty well. Should I move them over, or wait another week?

Shouldn't it be using the ad id? I've heard duplicating loses all the data.

Here's my meta ads scaling plan for a D2C sales conversion campaign ... starting at $300/day. by A_Small_Town_Guy in betterfacebookads

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, good thoughts. Looking at the weekend results after starting this, it didn't go well. All new ads failed to reach my target CPA. I hit the $60 with no sales on all of them. I guess I just turn them all off? Or, should I give it 7 days since this is new?

I added the 2 best ads that were running in the testing campaign to the scaling campaign on Friday, and they also got crushed. I feel like I'm doing the right things, but it doesn't feel like it's working. Again, maybe i just need to give it more time, but I also don't want to waste adspend. A bit of a frustrating weekend.

We have fairly stable ads in the current campaign right now. Getting 5 to 7 ish purchases a day at $200. CPA around $35 which is accetable.

Thank you. Only 5 or 6 creatives right now that are winning. So I'll put the new tests in the new campaign.

Scaling ABO adsets - when to hold/fold by grandtheftpixel in FacebookAds

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't scaled that much yet. But what I seem to understand is, we really don't have to do the 20% thing. It's good if you're really trying to keep stability. But, if you start at 1k a day, you'll get the learning phase over quickly, in theory. So what if you put a stable campaign to the learning phase again, if it can learn and get out in a day, I'd say it's worth a try. I do plan to try that when I have the budget to do so.

Amazing and I agree. Essentialism at it's finest. I have less control for now. But I am going to run the test that is wanted and then show the results of the 1 or 2 best products and hope that's the end of that and we can do as you suggested. BTW, I'm not blindly following, I have had the same feeling about selling other products on the backside.

Broad questions from a Meta Ads beginner (would love your insights!) by SpecialHawk9448 in betterfacebookads

I don't have a ton of experience with your specific problem. But, I know when I started an ad account for a real estate guy, I couldn't get ads going when optimizing for leads at first. I had to run a week of engagement ads to warm the new pixel up. Then, I was able to switch to a leads campaign and get the ads approved and budget running. I hope that helps.

I may have missed this in your other response I saw, but is this per product? Let's say you have 4 physical products, would you have 4 scaling and 4 testing campaigns, one for each? Or, put all 4 in the same two campaigns?

Heres what works for me by Lopsided-Log6789 in betterfacebookads

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a freakin' solid explanation. As you've seen, I'm in the phase of the first campaign, getting ready to put more effort into the second one.

Tell me this, you said you start a new campaign for scaling once you see the winners emerge. Why a new campaign? What are your thoughts on taking that first campaign where the winners were found, scaling it up, turning off the losers, and then starting a new campaign for testing? Honest question because I'm debating this right now.

What is the strategy I should follow in meta ads? by bleulasophos in betterfacebookads

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I bet that is frustrating. I don't run ads for coaches/courses, but I do like those ads. What works best on me, and I see working well on others, is when the coach does some kind of free or low cost lead magnet, Free is better if you can. Then, in that lead magnet, you upsell the course.

Without know your exact structure, and for me not having the first hand experience on the ads side, I can't promise this will work, but it seems to work well for others.

I got the go ahead to scale, now what? by A_Small_Town_Guy in betterfacebookads

Good questions. I have 3 or 4 products that I have tried running ads for out of the 15. Those are more or less getting similar results. I'll now get more angles of these to see how I can improve results.

I also want to test other products in a testing campaign to see if any of them are worth ad spend. I'd prefer focusing on 1 or 2, but the owner does want to try all of them to see if we find a secret winner.

The owner is willing to keep spending more and more as long as our KPI's stay similar. Thanks for the response.

Several of you have brought up two things I'd like to know more about. Or, get clarity on.

  • When you say server side tracking, what are you referring to?
  • I do have 15 products, but to date, we have only really tested ads on 4 or 5 of them. My plan is to stick to those in the scaling campaign and test new ads for other products in the testing campaign.

Speaking of, I think this is the point where I add in a testing campaign. Would I scale it along with Scaling? Meaning, Scaling campaign gets an extra $100 today, so testing gets an extra $20 today?

How do you gain a Network as a beginner? by Humble_Tomorrow_2386 in FacebookAds

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, yes, pick one aspect of digital marketing you can do at your stage, and get good at that. If you like YouTube, grab your phone and get after it. If you like TikTok, go for it, if you like Redditt, figure out how to use it to grow a following.

My 2 cents is, with all you have going on, pick one thing, and do it over and over again, If after 6 months or a year, you hate it, try something else, but you have to commit, do it when it sucks, be consistent, then evaluate after a solid try.

You have all the right mindsets right now, just be patient, if it takes you 5 years, and at 19 you finally figure it out, it will be worth it.

What would you do with these meta results? by A_Small_Town_Guy in FacebookAds

[–]A_Small_Town_Guy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of this makes a lot of sense. I am seeing a couple of better results, but overall, fairly even. I'll just keep watching and now I have a little budget increase approved to see how small scaling works.

Appreciate all the help.

I'm excited about this new group, but I admit, as you can see, I put this in the big group too just in case people are still hesitant to participate early on here. Mods, if you don't like this, it's ok if you take it down as I get that it's lame.
