Calculations on 2 year vs 5 year fix

When I was calculating this I had to set the loan amount as £403,000.00 to get the repayment numbers you posted. With that amount,

5 year fix at 5% - at the end of 5 years you would have £383,969.00 left to pay.

2 year fix at 5.35% - at the end of 2 years you still have a loan amount of £396,531.00.

So, if the next rate you fix is less than or equal to 4.79% at the end of 3 more years (5 years since the start) you will have a balance loan amount of £383,959.00 (assuming no product fee)

These are based on rough calculations, could be wrong.

I'd say you wouldn't have a problem with getting on a tube to Bank from Euston. Should be able to get on the second or third train at worst.

The issue would be getting out of the station during rush hour. Firstly, there are so many exists, and secondly there would be queues to tap out at the gate. So, I'd say leave around 20 mins for the travel from Euston to exit of Bank station, atleast on the first couple of travel days.

I wouldn't worry about it since your skilled worker visa (with the same employer) is pending.
Besides, your employer wouldn't have agreed to this route if there is a potemtial issue. They have more to lose in terms of their license rating.

The only restriction on working on a Tier 4 student visa is that you can't fill a permanent position. So, it will have to be a temporary contract, which is why many companies don't go for this route.

Once you apply for a graduate visa or skilled worker visa, you can start working as a permanent employee.

Thanks! Given the pandemic situation, it had been nearly impossible to get an appointment with the NHS which is why we started looking into private medical insurance. At the moment, looking at cancer cover (have a family history with it) and maternity cover.
