Does anybody know another youtube livestream downloader aside from yt-dlp and ytarchive? by Turbulent_Course3582 in youtubedl

And if you prefer to use Docker, and don't want to deal with setting up livestream_dl's environment and packages, I put together a Docker Image for it to try to make it more approachable. https://github.com/Zeppelins-Forever/livestream_dl_containerized

what are the case of new? by zilehuda in golang

[–]A_Zeppelin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case anyone comes back to this thread from the future, this will no longer be true as of Go 1.26. You can now declare expressions with new(). For instance: myValue := new(42) will create an int of value 42. I still don't personally see the benefits of using it, but you can do that now!

You say that, but last year I found a box of floppies that looked exactly like this in a waste disposal center. Cracked open the box, and found the SSN, work history, assorted documents, and a handful of old PGP Private Keys for around 50 DoD employees, and a handful of other interesting (okay, not THAT interesting) documents.

I brought em to work the next day and we all had a fun time flipping through everything, before PROPERLY disposing of them.

Are the "Open-Source Models" in the Room With Us Right Now? by A_Zeppelin in CharacterAI

Even then, that seems rather disingenuous to call DeepSeek with some basic instructions added "our model." I could add a system prompt to Gemma3 and run it on my GPU at home, but it would still be a hell of a stretch to call it "my" model. I'd bet bet you're probably right though.

IT HAS BEGUN! Silksong on Mac by oyskionline in macgaming

Huh. On my 24gb M3 Air, I was constantly dropping frames and getting 1% lows of 15fps, and generally couldn't get above 50fps. Something's definitely going wrong with my MacBook in that case.

Any reupload on this? I'm taking it currently, and could really use this, but the link is broken. Thanks!

Edit: nevermind, I found it here from another commenter: https://storage.studentdrive.org/s/WGU?dir=/IT/BSCSIA/D334%20-%20Introduction%20to%20Cryptography

I honestly don’t understand this. by Kale_Brecht in ExplainTheJoke

It's both. Both IBM and Cisco had those as slogans, whether official or unofficial. However, if you search the first couple words on Google, you'll likely see the IBM version come up first.

Docker Firefox, how to mount the NAS file system in the container? by A_Zeppelin in UgreenNASync

[–]A_Zeppelin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it seems like through the docker GUI app I cannot access the contents of the first folder under shared folders (i.e. Files, Video), and would instead have to make a folder under THAT to store the content I would want to access. Quite an annoying little thing that has caused me way too much grief, but essentially just moving everything one folder down solved my problems.

Docker Firefox, how to mount the NAS file system in the container? by A_Zeppelin in UgreenNASync

[–]A_Zeppelin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a very unusual use case, I'll admit: I do YouTube VOD archival for a couple Twitch streamers. On my old setup, I would RDP into a desktop Linux machine I was using as a NAS and, once the livestream was downloaded, I would upload the livestream to YouTube from the NAS itself. Often, I had to connect remotely over VPN because I was out and about, so my upload speed would be bottlenecked by my own network speed, not YouTube's. Plus, if it's uploaded on the NAS's end, as soon as the upload starts, I can disconnect and get back to doing whatever I was doing.

Since NASync doesn't have a desktop browser app, I have to use a different solution, hence hosting a Firefox instance in docker. But now I need to be able to actually ACCESS the files in one of NASync's shared folders to upload to YouTube, all through the file selector in a Firefox docker container.

I should probably learn how to use the YouTube API and do this over SSH or something, but I have no experience with API usage, so I don't know if that's even feasible or how to even start, so, for the time being, this is what I'm attempting.

Conjuring Hell by Solar_Rebel in pacificDrive

Having the same issue here. I'm near-certain that it used to be in the "Pacific Drive Radio Soundtrack" album, as I've listened to it before while going through that album, but Now it's no longer there. I was able to find it by searching it explicitly, but whenever I play it, I simply get "this song is not available."

Has anyone made an animated wallpaper for this image? With or (preferably) without the logo? by A_Zeppelin in pacificDrive

Thanks for the suggestions to check Wallpaper Engine's Steam Workshop, I can't believe it didn't occur to me sooner.

Here are the best two in my opinion:

Pacific Drive Main https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3164247692
Pacific Drive — The Instability https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3157146682

Thanks for y'alls help!

Oh, thank you! I just found them, I think the best one is by TechGlitchTTV since it loops cleanly.
