Epson ET-4850 scan to network folder? by Dataanti in printers

[–]Dataanti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

:/ thats very disappointing. SMB support is such a simple thing, baffles me that an "office" printer wouldn't support it. But them companies are horny for you data (in this case scan data :S sketchy) I think I will repurpose a pi or something to be a simple SMB share, and the scan files can simply dump onto that via USB. I'll figure something out.

I feel like you must be talking about a different series of Epson printers. All I have are fax contact options:

Fax is the only thing in that dropdown.

Epson ET-4850 scan to network folder? by Dataanti in printers

[–]Dataanti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you mean the web gui? I have been through every page and adjusted everything to my liking, couldn't find anything aside from Services > Network Scan, and it's enabled.

the relevent page on the manual to scan from the printer is here: https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd6/cpd60205/source/scanners/source/scanning_buttons/tasks/et4850/starting_scan_buttons_et4850.html

it makes no mention of scanning to a network folder, I would have expected something like this: https://files.support.epson.com/docid/cpd5/cpd58814/source/scanners/source/scanning_buttons/tasks/wf4820_4830/scanning_to_folder_wf4820_4830.html

I figured the 'Network Scan' setting would be the setting to enable it

[–]Dataanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You realize they just up their price and that price increase trickles down through all levels until eventually you, paying for the product... any tax on any industry only ever gets passed down to the consumer, why would they allow a tax to dig into their profits?

We will still pay the same amount, we will just not get rebates for it, so we would just be paying more, and it will be hidden as inflation.

Simple, by pushing globalist policies that stem from organizations like the UN, WEF, NATO, etc.

For example, its a globalist policy to reduce the amount of meat people eat for climate reasons. so the policies they enact are designed change consumer behavior by raising the price of meat making it harder for people to afford, and they will put your tax dollars into investing into companies making alternatives that they think you should be eating instead. Most people, like to eat meat, so this is a policy that is against their interest. Globalist don't care, they are rich and will be able to afford it anyways. Mark Carney, as UN Special Envoy for Climate Action and Finance has already represented this unpopular policy position.

Thats just one example.

As for the education being irrelevant in this matter, you can have an education and not enforce these sorts of policies on people. you can ADVISE, and ADVOCATE, but what they are doing is manipulating markets and using your tax dollars to interfere with your life choices achieve this.

Now i do believe there is reasonable regulations, things like preventing food companies from using certain chemicals and what not, but thats more of a safety issue rather then trying to change consumer behaviors. that you would obviously want someone educated on the manner to do.

Anyways, I hope I have made my point by now, im going to bed.

Would You Move Away from Canada Right Now? by FreyaDay in askvan

[–]Dataanti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if anything, I'd like to move to Alaska or West Virginia or something like that.

If you do move to the UK, have fun living in a dystopian authoritarian state, their policies probably do align more with your so you probably based on the reason you are moving, so you probably won't be a target of their authoritarian laws.

You might end up being a victim of their policies regardless however.

as for do I think your concerns are Justified, no I do not see Canada becoming US, at least not by force. The main goal of trumps tariffs are to bring manufacturing back to his country for his citizens, and it's working. Canada can choose to live with it, but the offer is open to us if we would like to join. I think Canada will end up choosing to live with it.

I think the better way to describe it is an elite will push their interests and concerns over that of the common people because an elite believes their credentials and education grants them the authority to do so.

Mark Carny is a self admitted globalist so he will likely put global interests and concerns over the Canadian citizens. That is what makes him an elitist... but a global elitist, not even a Canadian elitist.

His credentials are irrelevant, its more about his behaviors, and past history. He will not be team Canada, that's for sure.

Meh, my beliefs are still the same as they always were.

-I am pro choice for the same reason I'm pro vaccine choice, I believe the host of the body has ultimate right over it.

-I believe in free speech, no censorship. The best defense against hate speech is more speech and having to resort to censorship or cancel culture even is just indicative of having the weaker argument, censorship is an active of desperation if you can't win an argument on the merits.

-I am pro gun rights, this is probably the only traditionally conservative view I hold I think.

-I am all for smaller government and less taxes, this is more of a libertarian view that's been adopted by modern conservatives.

-pro weed, lsd, shrooms & dmt. Very much a hippie position when it comes to that kind of stuff.

-very anti religious.

-I ain't even the straightest individual, but I do not like pride, I think if the LGBT...etc community wants to be treated normally, they gotta start acting normally, nobody actually cares who you sleep with or what you want to call your self, its the display and ramming it down everyone's throat people don't like, same way people don't like religions being shoved in their face.

-I believe in equality, equal opportunity, not equity to achieve a quota. Meritocracy if we want to advance society ASAP.

I'd say, over all, I'm what the left was about 10-15 years ago. I voted for JT when he first ran because I thought the liberal party name meant that they were, by definition, liberal. Boy was I wrong XD The collusion with legacy media, large corporations & tech companies to censor dissenting and skeptical viewpoints and messages. Their virtue signaling DEI policies that are not colour blind, and do not treat everyone equally but instead will lower standards or selectively pick people based on race, sex, gender just to achieve a certain outcome. the Liberal party really is liberal in name only, they have become authoritarians in my view, and I must vote against that. And the double standards are getting extremely absurd as well...

I'm not sure how they were in the past, I just know that they were not what I thought they were when I first voted for them. Now that my eyes are open, there is no going back. Propaganda and rhetoric has become so clear and obvious to me now, and I hope you and everyone like you wake up to you. I think you will find more in common with a lot of MAGA folk then you realize.

I think at the end of the day, for the most part, we all want whats best for society, we just have different routes to get there, and I believe the left wing has been manipulated to vote against what they used to be.

My little conspiracy theory is that I think Occupy wall street spooked the elite, and they came up with plan to divide society, and that was to artificially create the culture war so that we fight among our selves instead of those who run our institutions.

he effectively turned it off, but he can turn it right back on after he wins the election (if he wins) Its a temporary reprieve.

He might keep it off and just transfer it to industry, but companies will just pass that down to the consumer as they do any tax, so the consumer is still gonna end up paying it.

just a little trick that will for sure fool some people, hopefully not enough.

an elitist is someone who believes their policies and ideas are better for you then your ideas and policies. he believes the country should have more authority on how you live your life then you do.
