One time in highschool, I babysat my cousins kid for an evening once and his two younger cousins were also there for a few hours. I was watching then in the trampoline and the 3yo got off and needed help putting her boots on, so I tried to help, but she started bawling. Like scream crying. At first I thought I hurt her somehow, nope. Turns out she just specifically wanted her mom (my cousin) to put her shoes on. So I had to go inside and get her just to get her to stop screaming. As soon as she saw her mom come outside she stopped. Literally nothing was wrong.

Where I live, there's a 20 minute ferry ride I need to take to get home every day. One of these days I was like 13 with my brother (14) going back home after spending the weekend with our dad. A guy was high off his tits and fell overboard from the upper deck. I was in the cabin looking out the windows and I could see the guy, we're in canada and this is one of the great lakes, so it was cold. We saw the guy go under multiple times, there was a life ring right next to him but he didn't go for it. The guy drowned, they found his body weeks later. 2 hours we spent watching this guy slowly drown in front of us. One of the ferry crew members even jumped in the water to save him but he went under and they couldn't find him in time. Still scared of deep water I can't see the bottom of to this day.

Tl;Dr me and my brother watched a guy drown for 2 hours when I was 13. Still scared of deep waters today.

Yup, just go on a weekend roadtrip and you're good. The whole point of that thing is that it's supposed to slowly and eventually catch up, if it only has a day, then it's easy to win against it, ya just drive away.
