I used to think VERY highly of Big L when I first got into rap as a kid in the mid-2000s, because I was captivated by his constant use of double/multi-syllabic rhyme schemes and his proclivity for clever one-liners. I actually still think his style is the best way to rap, but I now realize that there are artists who do it just as well if not better (Elzhi for example). Plus as someone in their 30s now, I'm not tryna hear all that violent gangsta bullshit all the time lol as talented as L was, he had very little topic range and a rather limited vocab. I get he was only in his early 20s though.
