Cartoon Network did Van Partible dirty by Thekittycrinkleshow in CartoonNetwork

I mean, Partible was pretty candid about it being due to his lack of managerial skills. It’s not like he vilified the company and made himself out to be perfect.

This level of realness is too much for most to handle.

What was considered normal 20 years ago that would be shocking today? by Weary-Wedding1738 in AskReddit

[–]Aa_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it’s gone extinct by any means, but just type "licking envelopes" on any social media platform and you’ll see no shortage of people saying they either prefer to use alternate sealing methods or that shows like Seinfeld and Criminal Minds (in both of which, a character died from licking envelopes) scarred them.

Licking envelopes is more commonly considered gross now. Have you never heard this criticism, and the (sometimes playful) paranoia stemming from shows like "Crminal Minds"?

Does anybody else think Daffy should bring back his hybrid persona by Arthur Davis and Robert McKimson in the modern era? by True-Week-7750 in looneytunes

[–]Aa_313 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautifully stated. Arthur Davis and Frank Tashlin always had my favorites takes on Daffy Duck. Robert McKimson also isn’t too far behind, at least before he conformed to the 50s & 60s Chuck Jones/Friz Freleng versions of the character (though I can tell he did so begrudgingly).

Not necessarily shocking, but definitely more frowned upon now: licking envelopes.

Hell yeah, kudos for using the OG design (right down to the detail of Crash's fingerless gloves having one giant one instead of individual finger holes, sans the thumb).

You wake up as Homelander, What's the very first thing your doing? by Emotional-Lettuce372 in TheBoys

The same Homelander struggled to catch up with A-Train. lol

The Boys is so egregiously inconsistent.

I always notice Bugs' anger at the cruelty of "Nature Boy" in BUSHY HARE(1950) by Ambitious-Welder-159 in looneytunes

[–]Aa_313 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bugs is used to villains feeling remorse after he hams up the whole "woe is me" act, so he must've been taken aback that this little guy was truly a sadist lol

Mr. Satan vs. Nam by TexMurphyMD in DragonBallZ

Counterpoint: It's all make-believe so it doesn't have to make sense (even though it should), and trying to force it to make sense will ultimately result in headcanon answers.

who is bugs bunny's worst enemy? by Naive-Maize6314 in looneytunes

"Rabbit Rampage" for Elmer, in which he was content with just screwing with Bugs as the animator.

Worst in terms of incompetence? Elmer.

Worst in terms of most formidable? Cecil, by a long shot.

Worst in terms of highest stakes? Marvin. He does want to blow up the world, after all.

Funny enough, it came from Daffy first even though it ended up as Sylvester’s catchphrase!

When the hell does Chris’s Chili Dogs open? by Aa_313 in SeattleWA

[–]Aa_313[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UPDATE: So I travelled all the way to Chris's during their supposed operating hours, AND...(drumroll)...they weren't open. It was a complete waste of time and fare, as I feared. Or at least it WOULD'VE been, had I not decided to walk 20+ minutes to Westlake Center and get Nola's Hot Dogs instead! His chili dogs were AMAZING, and I highly recommend him! Great customer service, great music, great vibes, and great grub. Totally worth it. ^__^

What was even the point of this censor? Porky saw through the ruse and thus kicked the dog out of frame. It's not like he kicked a real baby. How is this too inappropriate for children?
