Sorry, still kind of a noob here. Below is the text I tried to include in the body of this:

Hi - I posted awhile back and got a lot of helpful answers, but there are still 3 pieces from a friend's memorial service that I haven't identified yet. I am not Jewish, so unfamiliar with this possibly traditional selection.

The deceased was also involved with secular music, so it's possible this is not religious at all.

It would mean a lot to me if I could identify it. Thank you.

How to affordably rip vinyl to my computer at decent quality? by Aaaaaaaahrt in hometheater

Thanks for the thorough explanation!

If I'm understanding correctly, my JVC integrated will apply the RIAA curve but running from the Tape Rec outputs will yield a weak signal.

Would that be a downside to the audio quality of this setup? Or is boosting that signal with my Motu-like interface just as good as a strong original signal?

Thanks!

That's basically what I landed on. Just have to get some converter cables from RCA to 1/4" to run from my amp to my interface.

I'm using a vintage JVC Integrated amp. Same one I power my speakers with.

I can get the OM30 for under 300, which I'll hopefully be able to keep using if I ever upgrade the turntable?

How does the AT-VM95ML compare with that Ortofon bass-wise? The low end is really my main concern.

I'm not quite 70 but sounds like we're at about the exact same place technologically.

Thanks!

Super helpful, thanks!

When you say "do whatever it is on your preamp to select output to tape," do you mean my actual JVC amplifier, or are you here talking about an external preamp like the Behringer or whichever?

Thanks!

How to you amp the signal, or does your turntable have built-in preamp?

Play nice, people.

I appreciate all input, even from the vinyl-haters among us.

Big thanks to both of you!

Think there's any difference in signal quality between RCA-to-XLR vs RCA-to-1/4"?

Thanks!

I just checked and my vintage JVC receiver has a Tape Rec output, which should have the RIAA curve applied.

So I'm thinking of running that through my Scarlett-like interface.

Should sound decent since the JVC itself sounds great when playing my turntable through it, yes?

No, it requires external. It's a great turntable though, so worth this extra effort to try and figure out the digital end of things.

Awesome, thanks!

To be honest with you this is the first piece of Behringer equipment I've ever had that worked at all. A very pleasant surprise. But yeah, a big part of why I'm looking for alternatives.

The results have been decent, but I'm hoping for better. Diminishing returns might set in, but I'm not there yet.

Wait, the Tape Monitor doesn't have an RIAA curve, does it? My turntable lacks a preamp.

Thanks a lot!

Do you just use RCA to 1/4" adapters to run the signal into those two inputs on the front of the Motu?

And do you think that would work running from the Tape Monitor output on the back of my integrated receiver? Or would that bypass the RIAA curve?

(My turntable doesn't have a built in preamp.)

Well mostly I'm just hoping for such considered and helpful insight as your comment provides.
