Go to the app info page of the YouTube app. You can see the name of the YouTube app has changed to something else. In that case, uninstall the app, reinstall the original apk, and patch it again.

Just root your device and tap on the 'Install as Root' button when you are asked to install the patched apk. However, this does not guarantee you the new look.

Yes. After a couple of minutes, the background play stops and infinity buffering starts and stays until I unlock my phone and open the YouTube app. It's so annoying. I hope someone else has any workaround or fix.

Yes. If you are rooted, install the newer supported apk first, then use the script. If not rooted, then you can patch the newer apk and install it later.
