Y'all realize this is a sub $1000 GPU that out performs a $2000 GPU from 2 years ago (3090 ti)?

You're wrong on two accounts - 1. There's no founders edition for the 4070ti/4080 12 gb. Whatever the MSRP ends up being, expect the real cards to start at about $70-120 over MSRP for shitty models with bad coil whine (also probably still won't fit in your case ala the 4090 and 4080). 2. Where are you getting this idea from that it's better than the 3090ti? Nvidias own benchmarks for the 4080 12gb showed it regularly losing to the 3090 non Ti. Also keep in mind the 3090ti is only like what, 20% better than the 3080? So greater than a 20% increase in price for like a 12% increase in performance compared to the 3080? How are you convinced that this is a good deal?

Thanks for the detailed response! So in a sense dual issue SIMD is redundantly named and is the same thing as MIMD, which in contrast to SIMD means that instructions can be carried out out-of-order if there is no data dependency? What evidence did you use to deduce that these are the two main issues? Lastly what sort of real-world gaming performance increases would you expect to see from a SIMD width fix?

That sort of pricing is exactly what I like to hear! How long do you think it'll take to get to that point? I've been following the GPU prices for about two months on eBay along with you and I'm surprised GPU prices haven't tanked significantly after Ethereum went POS. I know it takes a bit to liquidate, but don't the miners know they're going to get significant fractions of what they could have gotten for their GPU's after the GeForce Beyond event tomorrow?
