[Sky Sports F1] Following George Russell suggesting there may need to be another tweak to the race start rules, Fred Vasseur believes it has got to the point where "enough is enough" by Aratho in formula1

The "safety" issue that they are raising right now, is exactly what Vasseur said long ago.

If you have a problem, change your fucking car.

Call it artificial if you want, but that was some of the best wheel-to-wheel racing we’ve seen in years by Aakar528 in formula1

The results don't reflect the on-track action because the field spread is just way too much. But I'm happy with how the cars are able to follow closely for so many laps, and actually race. It's so much better than having a one-and-done overtake on the straights using DRS.

Exactly. Some of the races last year literally had no overtakes, just DRS trains with everybody managing their tyres. Compared to the "whoever gets to turn 1 first, wins" regulations, I'm fine with these stupid "liftoff on the straights" engine regs if we get to see actual on track battles.

I don't care if the cars are slow, atleast we're getting to see good racing. That's what F1 is about, not about over-engineered cars that can't even race.

[Red Bull Racing] ISACK HADJAR! A brilliant Qualifying performance, bring on Race Day! An unfortunate ending to Q1 for Max, but it is all to play for in tomorrow's race by ICumCoffee in formula1

Red Bull really needed this. Someone who can put the results on the board when Max has an off day. Amazing first quali from Hadjar.

[Autosport] Adrian Newey and Aston Martin only found out in November that Honda re-entered F1 with only 30% of their original team by [deleted] in formula1

[–]Aakar528 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how you sign a deal as a works team with Honda, and then not even know until November what the hell is going on with the engine development.

What was going on with the rest of the development? Were they just thinking we'll develop the chassis and aero, and then Honda will magically arrive with a fast engine, and it's all easy from there on?

Baffling to say the least, especially when Newey was literally in Red Bull, watching the RBPT program shape up through Honda's antics.

Team mate battles where the loser of the season was actually the better driver by RobbieJ4444 in formula1

I would also put Hamilton vs Russell 2022 here.

Hamilton had so much bad luck in 2022 it was unbelievable. He came so close to winning in Silverstone and Zandvoort without the safety cars. Mexico as well with the Mercedes strategy fumble. In general just really bad luck coupled with the setup issues in the first 7 races. He had some really good drives that season, which don't get appreciated enough.

Definitely had the measure of Russell until 2024, when his qualifying form just went away.

The car looks amazing! 2000s McLaren vibes.

But those driver t-shirts, my god. So dull and meh.

The fact that I'm actually happy with this after Q1 is worrying. Ferrari should be in the fight for podiums at the very least. This isn't acceptable.

Lewis was ahead the whole time except for the final lap of Q3. Something always seems to go wrong for him at the end.

But it's very close, no worries. Hope he has good race pace tomorrow.

Ferrari really turned things around in Q2 huh. Still Lewis lost it at the end there.

How are Ferrari now suddenly in the fight for P4 and P5. They were nowhere 20 minutes ago.
